After a little while, all the fighters went into the arena. They all patiently waited for Master Hand, as he would decide which fighters would be fighting each other in the practice matches. Master Hand appeared, and snapped, causing a large machine to appear, seemingly out of thin air. The machine had three small buttons and three large screens. The machine would be used to decide who would fight, and the "mode" or how they would fight. Would it be a One-on-One fight, would it be a "Free-For-All" or a "Team Battle." The screen started to rotate through a list of "modes." A red Shy Guy pressed the first button, which resulted in the first screen stopping on the "One-on-One" mode. A blue Shy Guy pressed the second button, causing the screen to display the number "31." Everyone was murmuring, knowing that everyone had each been assigned a number when they were invited to the tournament. It was based on when they had arrived at their first tournament. After a bit of murmuring the fighters figured out it was Solid Snake, fighter 31, who would be doing the first training match of the day. A green Shy Guy then pressed the third, and final, button which landed on the number "06." Immediately, Mario, Donkey Kong, and the rest of the "Original 12" knew who number 06 was; Kirby. It was Kirby, versus Solid Snake.

"Guess it's me, versus the Pink Marshmallow." said the retired soldier.

"Poyo!" replied Kirby.

Kirby walked into the ring, as did Snake. They were on opposite sides of the arena. The arena was very similar to a boxing ring. However, there were monitors for the other fighters to watch the fight. The arena then transported Kirby and Snake to a lone white platform. It looked as if Final Destination had all its color and life drained of it. The two fighters looked at the stage, then at each other. They both awaited the countdown they had heard before.

"Three........Two.......One..........GO!" exclaimed Master Hand, signifying the start of the fight at hand.

Snake immediately started the fight, by taking a pin out of one, of the many grenades he had on him. He lobbed the grenade at Kirby. However, the Star Warrior didn't react. He waited for the explosive to explode. Once the grenade went off, with smoke all over the arena, Snake ran towards Kirby. The pink puffball saw Snake coming and did what he did best. Kirby started to inhale as Snake ran towards him. Snake realized what was happening, and quickly took out his Nikita missile launcher. He fired a Nikita missile and it went directly into Kirby's mouth. Kirby swallowed the missile, as it exploded in his mouth. Kirby took minimal damage, as the young warrior ran towards the soldier. Kirby grabbed Snake and jumped into the sky. The monitors couldn't even pick up how high Kirby went, but in the blink of an eye, he came crashing down, Snake landing directly into the ground. Kirby let go just a second before landing, so he could land on his feet. As Snake landed he bounced back up into the air a little bit, as the force was too much for his body to handle. Kirby then jumped into the air, and kicked Snake, sending him to the very edge of the platform. Snake landed and placed a C4 onto the ground near the edge of the platform. Snake then took out his Nikita missile launcher and fired another missile. Kirby simply inhaled a gulp of air and started to fly, to dodge the missile. However, Snake turned the launcher upwards, making the missile move with it. Snake controlled the missile to make it follow the pink puffball as he floated throughout the air. Eventually, the missile made contact with the Star Warrior, exploding on contact. This sent the Hero of Dreamland across the stage, near Snake. Snake ran towards Kirby and kicked him offstage. Kirby took the hit, flying offstage. However, using his ability to fly, the "Pink Marshmallow" as Snake called him, recovered and grabbed the edge of the platform. Kirby then got up and rolled onto the stage.

"There!" exclaimed Snake, as he took out a detonator, and pressed it, blowing up Kirby.

Kirby was launched into the air. Snake looked up and didn't see Kirby. However, Kirby didn't come back crashing down as he did before. Instead, he just fell, at a normal speed, trying to touch the ground. As the pink warrior was falling, he took out a hammer, looking very similar to the one King Dedede used, but a lot smaller. As he landed, the hammer started to catch on fire, seemingly out of nowhere. Kirby landed near Snake, and swung the hammer, with incredible force. Snake rolled behind Kirby, as the small pink blob swung the hammer, missing the soldier. The Legendary Mercenary then planted a C4 on the star warrior. However, Kirby ran directly towards Snake, turning into a fireball, and launching himself towards Snake. Snake was launched, all the way to the center of the stage, getting up. As he got up, he realized the C4 was on him. He then threw one grenade, whilst running towards it, and Kirby. Kirby started to jump, before getting hit with the explosion, launching him off stage. Snake then jumped offstage to extend his legs and hit Kirby upwards. As he fell, he pulled out a Cipher, a flying camera, and grabbed it, flying upwards towards the stage. Meanwhile, Kirby was launched up high but landed on stage. Snake, on the other hand, was not looking good. His grip on the Cipher had slipped, seemingly leaving the Iroquois Pliskin to die. However, he pulled out his detonator, and detonated, while the C4 was still on his body. The C4 exploded, sending Snake high into the air, over the stage but he had gotten the height he needed. He landed on the platform, spat out some blood, and looked at Kirby, with a sly smile. He had missed this. the fighting, the fusing of other cultures, and the experience that it all brought. He took out his Nikita missile launcher and fired at Kirby. Kirby dodged the missile, but could not dodge the missile when it turned around. It exploded, launching Kirby high into the air. Snake then used another missile, hitting Kirby one last time.
