This is my first ever story, so please excuse my awful writing. I also don't know anything about The Voice, so I'm sorry if this is written completely wrong. But here goes nothing... This one's for Keli0596.

I was waiting to go onstage, nervously twisting my blonde hair around my finger, and adjusting my short navy dress for the thousandth time. Someone walked into the room and beckoned for me to follow them.

" You'll be fine if you don't mess up. Go onstage and sing better than ever!" They said, handing me a microphone.

Gee, thanks for the encouragement. "Okay, thanks," I said nervously.

As I walked onstage, my palms felt clammy and I tightened my grip on the mic. I went over the first line quickly in my head, then started singing.

That little ringing buzzing good-for-nothin' phone in your hands
The directions to the party
That's just started with that cover band
That old school radio station
Let's just drive until it's faded
Girl, let's lose it, tonight
'Cause when you do that thing right there
Flipping your hair, baby, I swear
don't think you know what you're doing to me
You got my heart skip-skipping a beat
You're not close enough so that space between
You and me, let's lose it
The way you're dancing, swaying to the music
Girl, that body and how you move it
Every time you cross my mind
Girl, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it

Just when I started worrying, I saw Blake lean forward and reach his arm out. My heart started racing, and I nearly stumbled over the words.

Let's start with them Luke Casey's
Baby, kick 'em to the floorboard

I heard a deep voice join mine, and I turned around yet I kept on singing. Kane Brown was standing right there,  hotness and all, singing along with me.

And bobby pins holding your hair up
Girl, you don't need 'em no more
That dress hanging off your shoulder
As you move a little closer
Yeah, let's lose it tonight, yeah, girl
don't think you know what you're doing to me

You got my heart skip-skipping a beat

You're not close enough so that space between
You and me, let's lose it
The way you're dancing, swaying to the music
Girl, that body and how you move it
Every time you cross my mind
Girl, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
' Cause when you do that thing right there
Flipping your hair, baby, I swear

I don't think you know what you're doing to me

You got my heart skip-skipping a beat

You're not close enough so that space between

You and me, let's lose it

The way you're dancing, swaying to the music
Girl, that body and how you move it
Every time you cross my mind
Girl, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
Yeah, I lose it
Girl, I lose it

Blake slammed his hand on the button at the last second, and his chair slowly turned around.

Yeah, I lose it

Kane grabbed my shoulders and turned me toward him.

"That was amazing!" He exclaimed.

I nodded and gasped a thank you, then hugged him. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close. I let go eventually and he looked me in the eyes. Wow, his eyes are so blue, I thought. He tilted his face towards me and kissed me. It was like out of a romance book or something.  I completely lost my sense of balance and fell into him, accidentally breaking the kiss. He chuckled at my reaction, then said, "I think you should listen to Blake now, he's waiting for ya."

I turned toward Blake. The other coaches had turned their chairs around.

"So what's your name?" he questioned.

"My name is Cresslynn Jae. I'm from Philly, Pennsylvania." I continued to answer questions, then

I was sent off stage. I ran towards my family and hugged everyone. I needed to go to the washroom, so I excused myself and left. As I turned the corner, someone touch my arm and I turned around. Kane was standing there, smiling and... blushing? That embarrassed me, so I hugged myself and awkwardly said hi.  He took a step towards me and pulled me into a hug.

"Hey, you good?" He asked.

"Uh-hu, just shocked. And surprised..."

"Surprised? You deserved that spot." He paused.  "Oh, wait. you meant... the kiss right?"

I giggled. "Ya, I did. Why did you kiss me?"

Kane stood there uncomfortably. I knew I had put him on the spot, and felt sorry for him.

"Your a beautiful girl, Cresslynn. Inside and out. And-"

He was going to continue, but I cut him off. "Your embarrassing me, Kane."

I looked at the ground, but he tilted my head up and pressed his forehead against mine.

"Cresslynn, I know we literally just met, but I love you." Tears filled my eyes. "I promise I'll never break your heart. Give me a chance, please. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Oh my goodness! Kane Brown just said he wanted to be my boyfriend!  "Yeah." That was all I could say. I burrowed into his chest and clung to him. He held me close and kissed my head.

"Since most of your family's here, can I meet some of them?" He whispered into my hair.

"Why not? They'll love you." I took his hand and lead him back to my family. They were waiting for me, so I wasn't surprised when my mom demanded to know why I took so long

"I met up with Kane in the hall, and he asked me-"

"To be your girlfriend? Yes!" My older sister, Katelyn, shrieked. She ran up to Kane and squeezed him. The look of shock on his face was hilarious, I burst out laughing. The rest of my family gathered around and hugged us. We finally got away after Kane offered to drive me home. We walked to Kane's mustang and climbed in. He was just about to turn on the car, but stopped, leaned towards me, and kissed my cheek.

"You can do better than that, can't you?" I laughed.

"I dunno, babe... Can I?"

I whipped around when he said 'babe'. He put his hand on my cheek and leaned in. I took a breath and pressed my lips to his. I felt a shiver go down my spine, and he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close. I deepened the kiss, but he pulled back all to soon.

"I think we should get you home now." He breathed. He sat back and started the car. I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I love you forever babygirl."

That was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.
