She was bleached in a somewhat literal sense;
Her alabaster skin partially swathed in white linen,
Surrounded in monochromatic hues.
It was a simple metaphor for how she felt,
How the colour had been erased from her life.
She lay in quietness for some time
Before the first sob racked her body,
It was an agonizing sound, something so shattering, so final.
Opalescent tears dampened her cheeks
And she cried.
