Bout damn time BG found him a girl, so now he doesn't glare at me . I kissed kota's forehead.

She smiled up at me. I smiled and rubbed her little belly that held my unborn baby.

Mom was so excited she was gonna get her first grand baby.

I was about to get up to go to school. "I wanna try to go today". She says.

"You sure last time you went you were/

She cut me off. "Yes , I wanna go""and besides, you'll be with me today". She says.

"Okay". I say. BG was going to ride on the back of the truck. His girlfriend had tried to make Kota ride on the back with BG . But I had told her no and that Kota needed to ride up front cause of the baby. She got mad and told BG to take her to school in his truck. Kota and I rode to school in silence. She looked out the window as I drove. "You okay?" He asks. "I'm fine, just thinking of what the baby's gonna be". She says. "Kinda hoping for a girl." I say. "Na boy ". She says.

"Why?""we're little terrors when we're little". I say. "When your little ?""y'all still are terrors. She joked . I rolled my eyes.

We were in the third class change of the day. I was gonna walk Kota to class when I saw her crying. "What's wrong?" I ask. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "Are they picking on you again". I ask. She shook her head 'No'. Tears streamed down her cheeks. "What is it what's wrong".? I ask pulling her against my chest. One of kota's best friends since freshman year hurried over to us. "Her cousin was killed kolby". The girl says quietly. Kota held me tight enough to make me stop breathing.
