“I think I understand what you were asking earlier.” Sebastian murmured, keeping his head pointed towards the clouds. The grass around him rippled in the breeze, brushing against the exposed skin of his arms, legs, neck and face.

“Oh yeah? And what was that?”

“You were asking if I’d ever kissed a boy.”

“Yes. I was.”

“Why would I have kissed a boy?” Sebastian asked.

“It’s an option. Have you ever thought about it?”

“No.”

“Think about it for a minute.”

Sebastian stopped to think about it. “Aren’t girls supposed to be soft? And boys are hard and gruff. Why would you want to kiss someone like that?”

“Do you feel hard and gruff?” Monty asked.

“Well… no.” replied Sebastian. “But we’re young. We have time to become hard and gruff. That’s what girls like right?”

“Do you want to kiss a girl?”

“Aren’t we supposed to?” Suddenly Monty’s face appeared above Sebastian’s, blocking the view of the clouds.

“Since when do we do what we’re supposed to?” Monty grinned.

Sebastian rolled his eyes, and sat up, pushing Monty away. He didn’t like the way his pulse had jumped, and his cheeks started to burn. “Come on Monty. That’s not at all the kind of stuff we pull.”

“We aren’t supposed to leave the village, and yet here we are.”

“It’s not the same thing Monty.”

“It’s pretty much the same thing.”

“Not even close.”

Monty lay back in the grass and closed his eyes, sighing. “Whatever you say Seb. Just think about it, okay?”
