They had won, yet it felt like they'd lost more than what they had to begin with.

Raya was angry. She was left in the world without her brother, a world that finally appreciated all he did when his arc, or better said: his heart, was set afloat a lake. The young Stark wasn't angry at what everyone would think she'd be, she's mad that she hasn't been able to keep her promise to her dying brother.

"It's okay, big brother. You can let go."
"As long as you do also."

Raya wants to let go, she wants to be the hero he always inspired her to be. To be a good aunt to Morgan. But getting used to being alone for the first time in the world was going to be harder than bringing half of the universe back.

Bucky Barnes lost the last person in the world that reminded him of his humanity, of the good things in his life. He withheld showing his true feelings about Steve living his life, about leaving him. He knew as a bestfriend he was supposed to be happy Steve had the opportunity to live his life, it's why Bucky didn't stop him from entering the quantum realm again. Yet, he left him to deal with this empty void and misplacement in a world he barely knows, one that Steve couldn't ever bring himself to move on from. But Bucky wants to, he just never thought he'd have to do it alone.

Raya Stark and Bucky Barnes are two lonely souls eager to heal. Two unexpected souls brought together by loneliness. But maybe this is the only way they'll get to heal.
