As I looked up there was a huge beam of light that entered the car. It was sunlight. I didn't know how it suddenly became daytime. As my eyes cleared I saw that the person who opened the car door was a police officer.

"Get her in the ambulance!" the cop shouted. Following his words, came two people took me out of the car and loaded me into an ambulance. I passed out while on the ambulance. When I woke up there was a nurse to my left.

"Oh good, you're awake," she said. I looked around and realized I was now in a hospital. I couldn't speak at first, I had no words. Then I became curious.

"What happened?" I asked the nurse as she started writing something down. She looked very familiar.

"You were in a car crash. However, you're doing alright. No broken bones and no fractures. You did take a blow to the front of your head but it didn't do any damage but expect your head to hurt for a while." she explained. "Do you feel okay?" she asked to confirm my state.

"A little shook up but I think  I'm good," I said. She wrote a few more things down and then told me the doctor was on his way. About ten minutes passed and then the doctor knocked and walked in.

"I assume the nurse filled you in?" he asked. I nodded my head. "You got in a pretty bad crash. Also, that bullet wound on your knee is pretty large. On your file, it says you got checked in 2 weeks ago for it, surprised you can walk," he said. I was about to correct him, I was going to tell him everything and ask him to tell the police, but then I remembered where the wound came from and decided to shut up.

"Well if you're all good go, the police have to do some questioning," he said before gesturing to my clothes. "Go ahead and change and the police are just in the other room," he finished and walked out. I put on my clothes and then left the room. I went into the other room and sat down in front of a detective.

"Hello I'm detective Trae Carson," he said, oddly nervous. He was wearing a navy blue tie, a white shirt, and a dark brown blazer. He was sweating which was odd since it was a cold room.

As I sat down I said "I'm Tory...Ryland," mirroring his nervousness. He kept looking into the corner of the room but when I looked over there wasn't anything there. His leg was shaking, very quickly, and he was tapping his fingers.

He took my hand, and he said rather quietly, "Everything is going to be okay." As he let go I realized he had given me something, a piece of crumpled paper. I took it and he looked at it. I opened it and what I saw gave me both a sense of relief and an immense panic.

I read the words in my head, "I know what's going on. They are coming soon. Meet me at 1363 Elle St. They won't follow you there."

"Do you remember anything about who hit you?" he asked. I remembered everything I was told, and what hell the past weeks had been for me, and I told him I didn't know anything.
