Clarke:
I let my mind wander. Picturing what earth really looks like. I feel the breeze, smell the air, watch the trees blow in the light wind.
It has been 97 years since planet Earth was completely irradiated by a nuclear apocalypse. Everything and everyone on earth was killed. But here on the Arc we were the only ones living. They say earth won't be survivable for another 100 years, but in these moments I imagine what it would feel like to be down on earth. But only that wasn't reality, it was just all we could hope for.
The world already ended. But who knew the Arc would go so soon to?
"Prisoner 319, face the wall." I was nervous I didn't know if my time had been up. "What is this?" I ask the guard. "Quiet, hold out your right arm." The man pulls out a case of wristbands. They weren't just any wristbands, they were some piece of technology.
"N-no it's not my time, I won't be turning 18 for another month!" On the Arc every crime no matter how small, will be payed with your life. They only killed people 18 or above and imprisoned the rest, but as soon as they turn 18 they will be killed. It's called being floated. Sucking the air out of the lungs of our people. Or opening the door on them to die off in space. They floated my father. Were they going to float me? "J-just check my files, I'm not 18 yet. Please" The guard shows no mercy. Does he even care? "Take off the watch." He demands me. "What? No this was my fathers. I'm not taking it off!"
I bolt for the door in a hurry. One of the guards try hitting me with an electric stick that will make you unable to move, but I pushed it on him instead. The guard falls to the ground while the other is against a wall, in shock. I hurry out of the room and shut the door behind me, trying to make it out before they get back. I watch as all prisoners are taken out of there rooms. "What is going on?" I say to myself.
The door swings open and the guards rush out. One on each end of the hall. I tried to run but I suddenly hear my mom yell my name. "Clarke!" I was so relieved to see her, to hear her voice, hoping that whatever is going on she can make it stop. "M-mom what's going on? What is this? What are they doing to us? They are killing us aren't they? To make more time for the rest of you." My mom pulls me in for a hug and I cry in her arms.
Abby:
"Clarke listen to me." I say, making sure I have her attention. "You are not being executed you are being sent to the ground Clarke. All 100 of you" she stares at me confused. "H-how is that possible Earth isn't survivable for another 100 years. N-no it's not safe for us" I can hear the panic in Clarke's voice. It hurts to send my own daughter to a possibly irradiated planet to die but there is a chance she will survive down there. But up here, they show no mercy. "The rules have changed Clarke. This is your chance to live! Your instincts will tell you to make sure everyone else is safe. Just like your father. But be carful I can't lose you like I lost him." I pull her in again, tears forming in my eyes. "I love you so much." I watch as a dart is shot into her back causing her to fall asleep in my arms. "Earth Clarke. You get to go to Earth."You need to keep me updated like what you want to see different from the actual show because my goal is to make it different.🙂 (And bellark is gonna be a thing)
