A Week Later

Annabelle finally had some time to relax.  She had finished her semester examinations prior to leaving for Brazil so now she was just focusing on her modeling shoots.  Her agent had successfully moved her stuff back into her parents’ house and she returned home to keep them company. Gerard was also back in Barcelona now, spending time with his son and girlfriend, as well as keeping up with the World Cup.  Brazil and Colombia were scheduled to play tomorrow and his brother had planned a watching party at his house.  Gerard didn’t even bother to ask his sister to go since he knew that the last thing she wanted to see was Neymar in his triumphant glory.  Cristiano was settling back in Portugal and still texted her daily.  Sometimes he would text her later in the day and she found herself waiting for his message.  However, for the past two days, she hasn’t heard from him at all.  It made her feel off when she didn’t talk to him at least once a day.  However, she hesitated to initiate a conversation.  It seemed like those awkward early dating norms where she was trying to find a balance between clingy and playing hard to get.  This was Cristiano Ronaldo after all.  He was used to getting all the girls’ attention easily.  So Annabelle thought it’d probably be best to just leave him alone.  Especially since she didn’t really know what their relationship was.

Feeling restless, Annabelle grabbed her camera and decided to visit her favorite park.  Parc de l'Espanya Industrial was where she first met Luna and since then, it has become their favorite place to think and be alone.

“Lulu, I miss you…” Annabelle whispers into the wind as she looks towards the sunset.

“I’m sure Luna misses you too,” an all too familiar voice says from behind her, causing her heart to skip a beat.  She turns around to see the tall Portuguese standing there looking as fine as always in jeans, a t-shirt and black Ray Ban sunglasses.

“C-Cris…”

“My Bella…” he walks over to her and cups her face with his hands.  “You look well,”

“Y-Yeah…  I’ve been well,”

“That’s good,” he smiles and let’s go of her face then takes her hand in his.  “Come, we have dinner reservations,”

“W-What?!  But I’m not dressed…” he turns to look her up and down.

“From what I can see, you’re wearing clothes,” she blushes all shades of red before responding.

“I-I mean, I’m not dressed up or anything and I look like a mess,”

“You’re fine Bella,” he kisses her on the forehead and returns to tugging her along.  He leads her out of the park to a small place called Carmen Restaurante.  They were shown to their table in a corner of the restaurant and Cristiano let her sit on the inside against the wall.  The server handed each of them a wine menu but not a food menu.

“I’m not really a wine person…”

“It’s okay.  I’ll pick something sweet for you,” he smiles at her before turning back to the server.  “We’ll have the Fontanafredda Moscato d'Asti Moncucco Premier please,” the server bows and trots off.  “I came here last time with my teammates and their food is delicious.  On Thursdays through Saturdays they have a special dinner menu and I wanted to try it with you,”

“Is that why you haven’t contacted me lately, because you were coming to Barcelona?”

“Oh, did you miss me?” he smirked when she blushed and looked away, crossing her arms in the process.

“N-No… I was just worried,”

“Oh Bella, you don’t have to worry.  My mind has been filled with only you these days,”
