"RISE AND SHINE!" Mark cheered as he paraded into my room and pushed open my curtains letting every single Ray of sunshine right into my eyes.
"Ugh! Say it any louder and my dad will find me." I snared as I threw a pillow at him.
"Funny Luna. Or should I say... Lilli. Now get up, I was nice enough to let you sleep this long. Any longer and your gonna be late for your first day. Now Lilli Melwood is never late." He remarked.
"Good thing I'm Luna." I reply as I shove my head into my covers.
"No you are not. You are Lilli Melwood and if not that, you are dead meat." Mark states as he ripped the blanket off my bed. "Now move it or lose it. You have ten minutes."
With that he left my room. Now that I was officially disrupted, I had no other choice but to get ready. I get up and browse my half unpacked closet. All my clothes I had were really intimidating. I mean I normally don't care how others perceive my style, but like how would Lilli dress? I didn't want to steer too far away from who I am. Like I want to keep my wits and my heart with me... but I also want to be the new bad bitch.
I settled for high rise mom jeans and a striped tight fit cropped tee. Paired with your basic white girl checkered vans. I really wanted to blend in clothing wise. So basic white girl it is.
I finished getting ready and headed to the car where my 'dad' was waiting.
As we drive, Mark thought it was perfect time to prep me for the day.
"Now first day is for first impressions. Nobody is asking you to change who you are and to disregard your personality. All we ask is to tell people your designated fake past and your daily events. All you have to do is fake your fave movie, living scenario and your life." Mark explained.
"Oh gee? It's that easy?" I joke passively.
Mark rolled his eyes.
"This is to benefit you." Mark hesitated and took a deep breath out. "Now another thing I wanted to raise, you need to join clubs." He continued.I nearly choked on thin air.
"Hmm? I don't think so. Isn't the point of this to draw attention away from me?" I point out."Well yes, but being a loner draws more attention and concern from your everyday fun loving teen." Mark differed.
"No teen is fun loving." I scoff.
"Look Luna, nobody is asking you to become class president or cheer captain. Just to be a normal teen who has fun with friends and school."
"Making friends ? I forgot about that." I sigh.
"Yeah? Can you do that?" Mark asked.
"You mean, make connections with people and give them the effort of friendship and open up to them so I don't cause concern to myself but also like not tell them who I really am and basically lead them on about who I am and how I live on a lie? Easy." I say sarcastically.
This really did stress me out.
"Don't put it like that. We don't know how long this investigation is going to last... it may be months, years even. If it's years... and you make valuable connections with these people, you can tell them the truth when we get your dad. See how real and loyal people are." Mark said trying to take a positive from the situation.
Years? Especially without my mum? I hate this already.
"I guess.." I trail off as I glance out the window to see my new school.
It was huge, white and filled with students. The huge stair case opening had a variety of people standing on it. Ranging from gossiping girls, football meat heads passing the ball over passing students, stoners and awkward freshman. Great.
"Heres your stop. I will meet you here straight after school ok?" Mark told me as I got out the car.
"Whatever." I eye roll.
"And less attitude!" Mark Warned.
"Hey I am just getting into character." I wink as I walk off.
As it is first day... I knew I wasn't the only new kid.. I mean a whole lot of freshman were starting as well. That may not be very comforting as I am a junior and literally everyone stops transferring after sophomore year. Whatever, maybe people aren't pricks at this school.
As I walk towards the main opening, I briefly think over what group I might get warped into. I don't want to be a mean girl obviously, but I also don't want to be in a crowd of people who don't talk to each other. Maybe I will join the stoners just for funsies.
First task of the day was to go to head office and sort my classes and stuff out. I officially was Lilli and I had to do this right.
