Henry and Spencer started to hang out with Ben and Anna it was sort of fun for them. But each of them had their own problems. Anna had her strange relationship with her mom, Ben struggled in math, Henry felt weird in school and Spencer was distracted by Ben. But more on that later. Anna got home after school and tried to keep up with math. She googled the equations and not only answers in Photomath gave them away, but she started learning. Somehow math in her house was easier because she was less tired than she was at school. Now here are the problems: Let's start with Anna.
Anna got home every day trying to avoid her mom. It was the same routine over and over. She got home, got upstairs, lock her door, sleep, watch Netflix and do her homework. One day though, the routine was broken. She noticed a cigarette in the furniture next to the mirror in her home. But it was not cigarette. It was pot, she realized. Anna wondered. Who would do pot in her home? She was a one child kid. Not like Ben who had five sisters and Anna never remembered their names. Poor Ben. At the other hand her mom was the only option. Anna's mom wasn't a normal mom. She was very liberal. That got Anna thinking.
Anastasia, Anna's mom was very skinny. Not like Anna. She had a blonde dyed hair in a bob. It looked weird but for a reason it suited her. What the hell Anna thought. Why would she be smoking at that age? Whatever. She tried to ignore it like she ignored her mom. Anna went upstairs and acted like nothing happened
"Hey" Said Anna's mom. Anna didn't say anything back. Not even hello.
She realized her mom started shouting to her but she looked the door avoiding her some more. She just couldn't stand her personality, and her constant need for a new boyfriend. Anastasia (which is what Anna called her) arrived home with a new boyfriend at least every month. Then she would get enough for them and break up. It was her routine.
Anna's home was big and white. Very modern, she thought so anyways. Her room was also cozy and white but not as big. She liked it. Her bed was a normal size. Perfect. Anna had been to Ben's house a million times (it seemed like it was built by Germans) but never to his room. Ben's mom was very strict. She had a theory that it was full of nerdy stuff like biology books. He was a nerd but didn't realize it. Ben though, had a strange passion for trying to become a hipster. A weird beard, weird clothing with a scarf, and some Bon Iver and indie music. Anna liked it but she thanked Buddha he shaved his beard. It was terrible. Anna was not a Buddhist but she thought Buddhist were awesome.
. . .
Ben was stuck at math but wouldn't call Anna because she had been spending a lot of time with Henry now, at least at school, and this year was different. It felt like Anna and him were drifting apart. He put his headphones on and listened to Pleaser by Wallows. He loved them. He sat in his bed and tried to organize his biology books. His room was full of them. He wondered if Anna knew that. He called Spencer. He knew that she seemed distracted but he didn't know why.
"Hey"
" 'Sup" She said.
"Can you teach math... I'll give you tea."
"Tea? You are weird. Sure. Be there in 5."
He was confused. He wasn't sure if he liked Spence but she seemed so fine. She was smart and funny and behind her shyness and her constant state of confusion, she had a great, wild personality. The bell rang. Damn she is fast. He ran downstairs and fell like an idiot. Spence saw that from the door's window and laughed.
"You are a dork".
"Hello to you too" He smiled.
Spencer was surprised by all the noise in Ben's house and all of the girls she saw.
"Are you a male prostitute or are those your sisters?" She asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Definitely not the first one. You wish." He grinned.
They got upstairs and actually studied.
. . .
Henry was really getting a lot with Anna. She was a little messed up and sometimes she seemed serious and other times she seemed really happy. He couldn't figure her out. He was happy at his new school. He thought he would never find friends, or be too weird on his first day, or fall in the middle of the hallway because that was his biggest fear. But Anna made him feel safe. He also met this other girl. She was very hot and kind. She said he really liked his eyes and he grinned at her. Her name was Emily and obviously she was popular. Her backpack, her makeup, her friends... But he didn't care, he was happy.
Henry was still scared at school and couldn't help it. It just felt weird. Too many people... And Anna seemed to like him but he wasn't ready for a relationship. The school was big and orange. It felt like prison though, but the bricks were missing. And he hated every subject. What was he going to study? He did not have a clue.
. . .
Spencer liked the weirdo of Ben. He was nice, and even though he felt retarded at math, he understood really quickly. Not like her at English A. She sucked at writing essays. Ben was starting to be a problem. He was being too nice. That had never happened to her. Specially because how mean she was. She never cared but she was mean to everyone and she didn't know why. Maybe it was because school sucked at smelled like Satan had passed through it. She hated that.
