An Unexpected Meeting (Dan X Reader)

    "Hey Y/N, wake up child, we gotta go. We've got a loooonnnggg day ahead of us." That's Mochi for you. She's been my best friend since kindergarten, we do everything together. We went to the same college too. Ever since 7th grade we said we would go to the same college, graduate, and become roommates. Now we're here in Montreal, Canada. It's beautiful here, the sights, the crisp, cold, north air. It feels like you're in a winter wonderland sometimes when it snows. Today was one of those days.

     "Ughhhhh, fine Mochi. I'm up." I lazily rolled out of bed, "So where are we going again? I completely forgot." Mochi smiled at me as usual, "We are going to a cat cafe, Y/N! Then we go shopping." Shopping... the one word I dread. I hastily jump out of bed and shook Mochi. "Mochi! You know I absolutely hate shopping." Mochi laughs, "You're gonna be fine Y/N, maybe we'll meet some cute boy along the way." I roll my eyes and laugh at Mochi, "Ok ok, I'll go get ready."

   I remember back when we were in high school: we were boy-crazy. We would always crush on the cutest boys in school. I go into the bathroom and warm up the shower while I take a trip down memory lane. I step into the warm shower and reach for the shampoo. The cool feel of the silky shampoo on my hands feels nice in the warm shower. I grab my hair and rub in the shampoo, combing my fingers through the knots. I get lost in thought even more while I finish washing my hair. I grab my towel before stepping out of the shower to dry off. I had my clothes already in the bathroom so I got ready in there.

   Stepping out of the humid bathroom, I adjust my over-sized hoodie and smile, "I'm ready to go Mochi!" Mochi turns around. It looks like she's been ready for a while. "You look nice Y/N, make sure you grab your coat, phone, earbuds and charger. Possibly a blanket, snacks and some water too." I laugh nervously, "Mochi I know the mall is hectic but it's not like the hunger games, why do we need all this stuff?" Mochi groaned, "There might be a blizzard, a bad one at that. It's gonna hit all of Canada." I thought for a moment, " I'll grab the stuff, you go get in the car." Mochi shrugged, "Alrighty then." Mochi walked out of the room and downstairs. I followed her downstairs and grabbed snacks from the kitchen, water bottles and blankets. I grabbed the door to the garage and open it, locking it before I left. I threw the other stuff into the backseat of the car and buckled up, "Let's go finally." Mochi nodded, started up the car, and drove off. As we steadily rode down the road I plugged in my earbuds and turned on 'By the Way, Can You Survive A Zombie Apocalypse' by my favorite channel, DanPlan. Three dudes named Dan, Hosuh, and Stephen get together and make up fun scenarios. It's quite fun to listen to them complain at one another, as I slowly drift off to sleep.

   30 minutes passed before Mochi shook me awake, "Wake up child, we've got a slight problem." I yawned and looked at her. I blinked and grumbled, "What do you want?" Mochi had a ' It's not my fault ' look on her face. She fidgeted with her fingers, "So we may not be at the cat cafe because the blizzard is really bad, but we are at the mall. We can take shelter in there. It has food and we have money." I groaned, letting out a deep sigh, "Ok then... let's go in..." I pull my hoodie over my head and get out the car. I can't see anything within 5 feet. I work my way over to the sliding doors of the mall in this hell of a blizzard. I bump into someone that's in front of me but.. it's not Mochi? "Ow! Wha-" I stare at who I bumped into. It was a tall male with brown hair and a black winter jacket on. The stranger turned around and slightly panicked for a moment, "I-I'm sorry, here, you go first." The sliding doors opened and I walked inside, the stranger walked in after me. "Sorry about that," the stranger said in a very apologetic tone. "No, no, no, I walked into you, you're fine." I scratched the back of my head nervously. The stranger sighed and held out a hand, "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Daniel or Dan for short." I thought for a moment... his voice, his hair, it all reminded me of Dan from DanPlan... I snapped out of my daze and shook Daniel's hand.

   "I'm Y/N, nice to meet you Daniel." I smiled. I looked at the door and saw Mochi wander in. I motioned for her to come over. "Not surprised that you made it in before me," She looked at Dan, "Seems like you made a friend?" I shrugged, "This is Dan, I just accidentally bumped into-" I turned to see Dan's eyes sparkling with joy, "Friends?! Making new friends is fun!" I chuckled, "You wanna be friends Dan?" Dan nods happily. I smile and reached up to pat his head, since he was taller than I was. Mochi laughed, "Well friends, where shall we go?" My stomach growled, "How about food?" I suggest. Both Dan and Mochi nod, "Lets go."

   While I walk with Mochi and Dan I wonder, 'He's so much like Dan from DanPlan, what if he actually is..' I started mumbling to myself until Dan tapped me on the shoulder, "Y/N, is something wrong?" I snap out of my daze, "What do you mean?" Dan shrugs, "You were mumbling to yourself." I fidget my fingers, "Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind..." Dan's expression changes from a sad look to more of a sympathetic look. He pats my shoulder, "It's ok pal, we all have those days." His warm, welcoming smile brings a smile to my face as well, as we all walk around the mall to find a place to eat.

  (Author's Note: A A A A A A A A WHY DID THIS TAKE SO LONG TO TYPEEEEEEEEEEEE UUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHH *upsetti Minty noises* I hope you enjoyed whatever randomness I whipped up. Majority of it is just Y/N remembering the good ol' days till they get to the mall. I promise there will be more with Dan in the next chapter I do. But imma focus on getting Stephen x reader and Hosuh x reader out of the way. I'm also sorry I had to cut this short lol. Welp, see ya soon kiddos.
