During the whole of the party, it never occurred to me that maybe she left me. In the morning, the news that I never expected and received from Kael, arrived. Fiona had left the party with my best friend at the time, Lena. All I remember feeling was sadness. I didn't cry, though. All the tears and worries from the previous night were sucked out of me and replaced by an anger I'd never felt before at the thought of Fiona with another woman. A woman other than me. Fiona came back to me that day, of course. And again, of course, I welcomed her. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the woman that I was in love with. I couldn't quite look at Fiona the same way after that, but I grew attached to her even more. It's amazing how once something threatens the love that you've come to know, you come to grow more reliant on that love. And that was just the beginning.
