the rain beat down heavily against us. i saw you slightly shiver as we stood in front of the flower shop.

"closed." you stuttered out.
i sighed and looked down at you "we can go next sunday alright." i watched as you shook your head, " no today, we always get a new rose every sunday."

my lips formed a straight line. "alright, but come quick or you'll get sick."

we ran down the street towards the other shop, getting strange glances from people passing by.

together we entered the small shop, you looked around. your face lit up when you saw the roses, but your eyes showed slight disappointment when you saw there was only red, pink, and white.

"they definitely don't have as much as the other place." i chuckled.

"no the dont, but it's okay we can make do with the red, right?" you questioned me.

"right."

we arrived home with a red rose, and a clear vase. you weren't too happy at the sight of the vases. they only had clear ones, but that didn't stop you from getting one because like you said
it's tradition now.

the clear vase was full of all the roses, it looked beautiful. you smiled and poked the red rose.

"it's not too bad after all."
i pulled you into a hug and stared at the rose.

"although i wanted a more special color." you mumbled against my chest.

"i think it's pretty." i spoke softly.

"like you." you whispered.
