Mari~
Hearing those words come out of Blake’s mouth made me numb. He was banned from training? For god knows how many years, I haven’t realized. Running outside, I roamed my eyes around to find Jordan. There he was talking with his Beta with his arms crossed, trying to look intimidating. I stormed up to him and poked him and yelled, “Jordan! You little bastard! You selfish piece of shit!” I know it was out of my place to be challenging the Alpha, but in a situation like this where your mate is being segregated by the pack, someone needs to confront the Alpha. He was still stumbling back as I kept poking him, hard in the chest. “Woah, woah. Calm down Mari.” He gently said as he grabbed my wrist in hope of stopping me. “What is up?” I paused for a moment. Did he really not even care about his pack members? I slowly lifted my head and glared as hard as I could at him. “You stupid jerk! You know what you did! Blake is forbidden training! And guess who ordered that? You!” By the end of my little rant, I was puffing and all of my anger was radiating off me. Jordan snaked his hands around my waist, drawing circles, trying to calm me down. . “Babe, babe, babe. Calm down.” Sunny was internally growling inside of my head because of the contact his hand had on my body. “Oh, don’t ‘BABE’ me. Lift the command! Or else I’ll hate you.” I huffed and everyone around us gasped at her. Oh great. An audience. We held eye contact for a few seconds before Jordan let out a sigh. He looked over to the pack house and motioned Blake to come forward. Blake hung his head low and meekly made his way towards us, his ears reddening. Sunny was fidgeting in my head knowing that her mate was going to be close by and she wanted out to be with him.
When Blake reached us, he lifted his head, face paled and shaking a little. I gave him an encouraging smile and held his hand, ensuring him that everything will be okay. We held out gazes until Jordan cleared his throat. We both turned to look at him, me giving him a small glare. “I, Alpha Jordan, lift the command of Blake Summers training pact as of today and can continue his training with the pack.” I smiled at him and nodded, an appreciation nod. I turned back to look at Blake. He was staring at Jordan wide eyed and his body was stiff and tense. . “Alright pack! Time to get to training! We are already half an hour into the session. Blake, go train with the newly shifted. It will be easier.” Blake was completely still, probably still shocked by Jordan’s words. I smiled at him and nudged him towards the group that he was to train with. He shyly walked over to the group of that normally hangs out with us.
Looking back at Jordan, he was smirking at me. My smile immediately turned into a frown. I grabbed his ear and dragged him to the side of the training area, him groaning in pain behind me. I let go of his ear and he stood up straight, rubbing his ear. “Damn Mari. Death grip.” I stood there my back facing towards him and looking at the ground. “You now know that my mate is Blake right?” I could hear a faint ‘yea.’ The wind blows as leaves crunch behind me, warm arms wrapping around me. I could smell his minty breath as he sighed on the top of my head, “Congratulations Mari. Although I really hoped I was yours and you were mine, I hope that you will be happy now.” Jordan kissed the top of my forehead and spun me around to face him. The brim of his eyes held unleaked tears and he stared at me. I held my hand up to his cheek and wiped his tears as they fell and gave him a small smile. “Hey, why are you crying?” I laughed at bit at the end. “Your time will come soon when you meet her. So Just bear with it for now, okay?” He looked at me and smiled. “Care to go for a walk with me to our special place?” He asked as he sniffled. I nodded and followed him as we walked further into the woods.
We had finally arrived to the place where we would always hang out when we were younger. We haven’t been here in a while but everything still looks the same. The clear water streaming down the waterfall, the leaves as they tangled down the side, the colorful earth toned rocks that lay at the bottom. It was peaceful, just how I remember it. Jordan’s voice brought me out of my day dream. “Remember when we first met, how you almost drowned in there and luckily I was there to save you?” He chuckled.
Flashback~
Walking across this forest, I found a waterfall which held many colorful rocks. I walked closer to the water to touch it and to feel the cold liquid on my feet. A little splash caught my attention in the deeper end of the pool. I walked closer to it and knelt down. I saw a golden, sparkly goldfish swimming in the clear water. I thought that maybe I could capture it and keep it as a pet so I leaned forward almost touching it when suddenly the rock I was on shifted beneath me, causing me to fall into the water. At that point I was panicking and flailing around, hoping that I could try to kick back to the surface. Water began to fill my lungs after a few seconds and at that point I was beginning to grow tired and my eyes started to feel heavy.
Suddenly, two hands caught my arms and pulled me up onto the bank of the waterfall. I coughed and wheezed, trying to get rid of the water in my throat. I heard a small voice shouting to me asking if I’m okay. I opened my eyes to find a young boy who was soaked, looking at me desperately and checking my face to see if I was in any pain. He sat upright and sighed when he saw me looking straight back at him, dazed. “You are so stupid. Why would you go in when you can’t swim?!” I sat up and stared at him. He looked oddly familiar to me. Then it dawned on me. The Alphas son! I quickly jolted up and curtsied, apologizing frantically. The rumors had said that he was a very serious and strict child as he was in the process of being trained to be alpha at the age of 9. I could feel his gaze on me as stayed like that. Suddenly, he burst in a fit of laughter as I stared at him in confusion. To say I was shocked to see him laughing would be an understatement.
“Oh geez. You don’t need to apologize. You’re scared of me aren’t you?” He said smiling. I looked at my feet and nodded my head. I heard a few footsteps getting further away from me as I heard a splash. I looked up to see that he was swimming. This really baffled me. He was so carefree. Nothing like what the rumors said about him. I walked closer to the edge of the water and sat down, admiring him as he swam around. A little later, I whispered in the smallest voice, “I was trying to catch the fish…” He stopped swimming and looked at you. Again bursting into laughter he said, “you know, you’re a funny girl. Trying to catch the fish when it should never have been caught in the first place.” He started talking to me as he swam in the water and we ended up laughing and talking for ages. That was until we had to get back home.
From then on, we had decided to meet there every day at the same time. We would go there to play around, admire the fish that I never ended up catching or just lay there and sleep. As the years went by, we became the best of friends anyone could have. He would always make time for me, even when he had trainings on, I would always sit with him at lunch seeming how everyone shied away from him.
End of Flashback~
I laughed to myself. “Yea. I remember quiet clearly.” I walked up to the water and leaned forward. Searching around for the fish, which was still surprisingly there, I giggled. “You fishy, had brought this friendship together.” Jordan squatted down beside me and smiled at the fish. I drew circles into the pool as ripples caused the fish to shy away. I turned to face Jordan and smiled at him. “We’re still friends, right?” I asked him. He laughed and smiled back. “Of course. Although don’t be surprised when I still want you.” He said and winked. We both laughed and stayed a little bit longer until we heard cheers back towards the pack house. “Guess that’s our cue to go back. Shall we my lady?” He stood up and took his hand out for me. I grabbed it and hoisted myself up and started walking back.
We finally made it back to the training grounds and what I saw made me swell with pride. Blake was panting as he ran as fast as he could, avoiding all the trees and obstacles as the crowd that had gathered cheered him on. He ran to the finish line and tripped, landing on the soil with a thud. Blake grumbled and groaned in pain and embarrassment. Sunny scampered around, hoping that her mate wasn’t hurt. I giggled to myself and walked over to Blake, squatting down and touching his hand. He laid still for a little while and slowly got up. I bent down and hugged him while the pack murmured into cheered. “Good job, Blake. I’m proud of you.” I whispered into his ear and then kissed his dirtied cheek. This was a major improvement for him. He was finally able to do something that he couldn’t have done in the past and faced his fears of being judged. This made me feel happy.
