I stare at the figure in front of me. Long brown locks, bright blue eyes, and soft rosy lips. I'm not the best looking girl going, nothing like those Cheerleaders at my school. They strut around in short skirts, tank tops, which hug their curves, but show too much of their orange skin. Golden bleached hair, cake faces and fake chests. Do I really want to look like them? No I don't.

''Scarlett, breakfast is on the table'' My mother shouts from the bottom of the stairs. I pull my brown hair into a high ponytail, slip on some skinny jeans, a white vest, and a dark red cardigan, before finally rushing downstairs and into the kitchen.

''Morning Mum. Have you seen my black pumps?'' I say with a mouthful of pancakes. My Mum is gorgeous, there is no denying it. She has short black hair, emerald green eyes, and rosy cheeks. I've often wondered what my Father looks like, since I look nothing like my Mother. I bet he was goodlooking. Mum could have any man, yet she chose him. He left when I was 1. I was too young to remember him. Mother says he ran off with another woman, I find that hard to believe. I always stumble upon her crying, alone in her room. I bet she's thinking about Dad. Why is she so emotional, even after all these years. Many people say my Mum lost the spark in her the day Father left. She's always been the same to me, 17 years of caring for me, and being there when I needed her most, she seems like the perfect Mother.

''I think they're under the stairs. Oh, I won't be here when you come home from School, the girls and I are going out for a meal. Will you be ok on your own? There is money under the biscuit jar, as usual, and you have my mobile number.''

''Yes Mum, I'm not 12 you know. You don't need to keep reminding me about where things are.'' I roll    my eyes, but in a playful away. Quickly, I swallow the rest of my coffee, kiss my Mother on the cheek, and run to get my pumps. I slip them on, pull my backpack onto my back, and open the wooden door.

''See you when you're back from going out with the girls.'' I shout before closing the door behind me.

''I see you're early this morning Scar'' Tristan chuckles from behind me. Tristan and I have been best friends since we were 3 years old. He's like a brother too me, and I don't know what I would be like without him. He has bright blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes, and a smile which could brighten up your day.

''Shut it Tris. How did the date with Jenna go?'' I say sarcastically whilst we walk towards the school. Jenna is one of the Cheerleaders. She's popular, fake, and a right bitch. I swear she has been out to get me for years. Sadly, Jen has had this huge thing for Tristan lately. We all know she's using him for his looks and the fact he is on the soccer team. I don't even know why he went out with her. He said it was for his reputation. Reputation my ass.

''Don't even go there. We weren't 5 minutes into the date before she was trying to get my clothes off. Worst. Date. Of. My. Life.'' I chuckle to myself. I'm glad it was bad. I'm not jealous of her, Tris is like my brother as I said before. But I know he could do better then her. Especially since he was the Alpha's son.
