Hey, my name is Spencer Agenté.
I'm 17 years old and I'm in my junior year at Edgewater High School. It's a Fine Arts private school, but when the clock tolls 7pm, this school is for the sons and daughters of gang leaders and drug lords. Now I know what you're thinking, if I go to this school, I'm the son of a gang leader or drug lord, right? Welp, good for you, you're paying attention! The gang's called Oslo Panic. I am, in fact, the son of a gang leader, my dad, Mack Agenté. But he passed away a couple years ago at the hands of the police...You could say that I was "homeschooled" before then, but once word got out that he was gone, everyone that had anything to do with the gang looked at me for guidance. So I guess this is where my life has taken me.
I'm taking classes to be an uprising gang leader, trying to fill those big shoes that my father left me. Tomorrow is the first day back to school since winter break ended. I personally thought tomorrow was going to be the start of the rest of my life, since I will be inducted as gang leader tomorrow. Laying in bed, I decide to check on my friend, Tony.
"Hey man, what's up?" I ask.
"Nothing much, I didn't get anythi-anything cool for X-Mas, did you?" Tony replies.
"No, you know I stayed at the school for winter break, so I didn't see any of my guys."
"Oh I gotchu, a-are you ready for induction tomorrow?"
I hesitate. I don't have a choice but I still think I'm not ready. "Yeah, sure!"
"Are you su-sure?"
" Yea."
Tony Russel has mild Tourette syndrome. His father, Leon, was the reason Tony got into Edgewater's day classes and night class.
His dad had a lot of money and the cause of that was because he was the most ruthless drug lord on the Westside of California. You can't get into Edgewater's night classes if you don't have some type of gang blood in you.
Leon was friends with my dad but Mack wasn't always a fan of his morals. Leon was an abusive father to all 5 of his children. Tony tried to stand up to him but he punched him in the throat...
Hard.
It messed up his speech for a while. He couldn't fully talk for about 2 months. Mack had to pay for his speech therapy.
"They're mig-might be new girls in this sem-semester. Bro, you are a junior! You can't just be a player all your li-life!" Tony yells into the phone.
"Yea I know, I need to settle down with a girl already but only after everything is settled at the induction. okay?"
"Alright, whatever you s-say."
I hang up. I don't know if I should feel this way about tomorrow. Shouldn't I feel proud that I'm continuing my father's legacy?
Since he died, I've always had this gut feeling that I will be this cold-hearted, good-for-nothing guy that doesn't feel anything, but, I-I don't know, for a second I thought that I could be someone else for a change. Mack would be so disappointed...

I didn't put Spencer's physical description for a reason... what do you think he looks like?
