A/N: So I just reread this and realized I didn't quite end it so here's the ending. Warning: it's just as weird as the first chapter. And as poorly written. But a little gorier. There's a bit of blood here so just watch your step. Don't get your shoes dirty. Wouldn't want to track blood into the house, right?
Yeah okay that was weird. just ignore that
Boy falls to the floor majestically, his light brown hair glimmering in the torchlight, but not before getting a good stab at the king. Out the window, the sun sinks from the sky, setting the clouds ablaze in a firey show of pinks, oranges, and yellows. This is unimportant but a nice description nonetheless.
Fauna snaps her head to her love. She had gotten to know Boy while they were living in the middle of the woods and had fallen in love. She falls to her knees, cradling his head. His skin pales, as he holds his poison-filled wound.
The king yells out in agony, screaming at his wound, which is bleeding out all over and completely ruining the shag carpet. Just as the king is about to take his final breath, the queen bursts in. This conveniently stops the king from dying. For plot reasons.
"Fauna?" She yells, incredulous. "Is that you? Is my darling daughter still alive?"
Fauna drops Boy's head the ground and runs to her mother, hugging her tightly. Boy groans in pain, but not too much pain because there is a shag carpet to cushion the fall. It has an ugly design, kind of like the design of a booth at a 70s fast food restaurant. Not that any of these people know what the seventies were like. It's like the 1300s or something right now.
Anyway.
The queen cries softly onto her daughter's shoulder. "I had a feeling you were still alive. Ever since that fortune teller told Bertie," (Bertie is the name of the king. I know, awful, right? It suits him.) "that you were going to become a commie, he was obsessed with protecting his legacy. I thought it was suspicious when you went up into the attic to play and Bertie told me you drowned."
"You thought I drowned?" Fauna asks.
The queen steps back, looking at her now grown up daughter. Fauna smiles at her mother, tears forming at the emotionalness of their reunion. "I thought so, but I guess it was too good to be true."
Fauna's smile falls. "You wanted me dead???"
"Yes," her mother replies. "Fuck commies."
The king groans from the floor, still bleeding out. "Yeah, fuck commies! You tell her, Cecelia!"
"Oh I love you, Bertie! Always having my back."
"Oh you," he says, blowing her a kiss.
The queen giggles, pretending to catch the kiss.
At that exact moment, Boy taps into his super-strong-former-rat-witch-curse-powers (which needs a shorter name) and lunges towards the queen with his sword. "Off with her head!" He yells before slicing at her neck.
She falls to the ground, blood spurting out of her neck. Boy bends down. No, it isn't blood. Just ketchup. Dissatisfied with the still-alive queen and her ketchup wound, he hacks at her neck with his sword.
The king cries out for his wife then drops to the ground, dead. Fauna stares in horror at the bloody scene in front of her. My god, she thinks. There's so much ketchup. And also her family has just been assassinated. That too.
Fauna is paralyzed in a state of shock. She can't understand how her true love could be so ruthless. But he was just trying to defend her, Fauna reasons.
Boy stops once he sees that both the king and the queen are dead. Then he remembers he is also bleeding out from the poisoned wound in his side. Snarling in pain, he bends down and grabs the queen's crown, pulling it out of her curls. He bows to Fauna, who is now queen, and puts the crown on her head. Blood drips down off of the crown and stains her face.
Fauna doesn't want to be rude, though, because Boy just straight up murdered two people, like, what the fuck, and smiles, but it comes out as more of a grimace.
Just then, Boy keels over falling to the ground, gasping for air. He isn't dying of blood loss, though. Plot twist, he has the plague. Funny how that works, right? I mean, they are in some European town in like the 14th century or something. And also boy was a rat. Let's not gloss over that fact.
Anyway the plague in this town works really fast for, say it with me, plot reasons! yay.
The life drains out of Boy and Fauna closes his eyes, weeping for her love, a bloody, slanted crown resting on her head.
From then on, she vows to never let this happen to anyone again. This never would have happened had her father not locked her in the tower. Fauna decides to be a fair ruler, letting everyone have an equal chance at wealth, power, and the life they so desire.
And with that promise, as the young woman still too young to be in a situation like this held her fallen lover, the prophecy that started this whole story came true.
The end.
But not really, there'll probably be a sequel or something. You know me.
