Kartik,
I'm Kartik. Just Kartik, no last name. I don't even know who my family is, I lived in an orphanage for who knows how long. But did my parents not want me? Was I not good enough for them? Was I a mistake? That they just left me.
I have so many questions to ask them, but I don't even know if they exist. Are they alive? Or did they die? Did they purposely put me in an orphanage?
These thoughts always circle around my head. I know these things aren't in my control, but still I think about it all night. Was I not good enough for them? Why did they judge me so soon? I always see kids with their families holding hands, joking around, laughing, hugging. All those things I never got.
I hated my orphanage, who knew kids who lived in an orphanage could be so cruel. But they were, especially to me. I don't know why. It seems like everyone judges me. It seems like when god was making me he made sure I got no love, from anyone. Well, once I turned 18 I was on my own, I somehow got myself on my feet and got a job.
I try not to live in the past, but it creeps up on me when I don't expect it. When I see young kids with parents especially. It makes me mad, what did I do to deserve this? What did I do to deserve this life? Am I that useless?
Kartik got up, from his bed and started getting ready for work. He heard some new girl, was moving into the apartment next to his.
"Maybe she's nice?" He whisper.
He laughed a little.
"Funny joke Kartik, no one in this world loves you, it's a fact." He told himself. He went to work, and it was a pretty normal day. To be honest Kartik was tried of this life. He felt alone, that's what he has been all his life. He thought he would get use to it, but it kills him everyday slowly.
He always see families, little kids together, he even sees boyfriends and girlfriend, sibling love. It kills him everyday with him just knowing he won't ever get that love.
"Why me? Why does anyone have to go through this pain, why can't everyone just be happy." Kartik said out loud to himself, in his cubicle. It was the end of his shift, and he decided to leave in a little bit, so he let his thoughts take the best of him. Those evil memories creep back on him. He tries forgetting them, but now his mind was in control, he couldn't do anything.
His head started spinning, and he couldn't tell what was going on. He got up, and left the office.
He tried finding his car, but the next think he knew was he was unconscious. A girl saw him fall, and she came running towards him. She went on her knees, and placed her hands on his face.
"Hello! Wake up!" She said.
She tried shaking him many times but no response. She checked for his pulse but she couldn't find anything.
She had a water bottle in her hand and splashed it on his face, till he came back to his senses.
He opened his eyes, slowly. Everything was still a blur to him, he had no idea what was happening. But he saw a girl, he couldn't see her face that well.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
I nodded my head.
"Security!" She called out.
Soon a security guard came, and helped me up. The girl ran away from there.
Who was she? I didn't even get the chance to say thank you.
Who was the girl? Why did she run from there?
To be continued,
