You originally met Dio when you were both only 10 years old. You were living on the streets, begging for food and money like usual when another young boy around your age came by, bought food for you and gave you some money. You remembered the sad look in his eyes when he first met you. You remember him reaching for your hand, pulling you up and smiling at you like everything was going to be ok.

Dio always looked after you. Ever since both your parents abandoned you to die on the street, Dio was like the only family you had. With what little money he had, he always brought you food and clothes. But the most important thing he could have ever gave you was his company. Being with him everyday made you feel safe and protected in what seemed like a hopeless situation. Even though you were smaller and meaker then him, you also tried to protect him in your own way by picking fights with anyone who would diss the Brando name. But since you were so weak, you always got beat up instead. Dio would scold you for this every time but it was the least you could do.

You would always listen to his antidotes and vents about his family and financial situation. You wished you could help him, but there was nothing you could do. Summer arrived, which meant less layers and more skin showing. You could see the fresh bruises on Dios beautiful white skin every time he came to visit.

"Damn that old man... he has no right to-!" "Its alright, don't get mad on my behalf." Dio inturupted you. "My revenge on him shall be soon. So just wait a little longer and I can get you off the streets soon too". Glee lit your eyes. "Really Dio?! Do you really think your plan can get me a home"? Dio smiled and patted your head gently. "If this doesn't work then I'll just build you a home" he joked.

6 years had passed since you had first met him on that cold street corner. Dio was the world to you and you thought the world of him. He was always there and he always tried his best. He was rough around the edges yet refined and alluring. But no one saw him like you did. No one else knew about the cold nights in winter where Dio stayed right by your side the entire night so you wouldn't freeze to death or the time he took a beating with a metal rod for you since you were caught stealing bread. But no matter how much you had been through together, you never once felt hatred or disgust towards the other. Whatever you had was mutual and stronger then anything else in the world.

Dios father passed away one night shortly after Dio told you that he had a plan. Dio came to you with a note in hand. "This is the ticket to our new future" he said with pride. You were so overjoyed and ran to hug him. You were smaller then him so he caught you in his arms and twirled you around once and placed you back down. He then took your hand and hailed a carriage towards the future.

You had recently moved in with the Jostar family. Dio came to the Jostar mansion with a letter from his father that requested that Dio could stay with them. George accepted and welcomed him into the mansion. But Dio also demanded that you could live there as well. He explained how you lived on the street and how you were practically like a brother to him. "Well, I suppose there's always room for one more said the head of the house with a smile.

You became quick friends with Johnathan, who treated you as an equal and with respect at all times, which was jarring at first but very appreciated. He introduced Danny to you and taught you how to make him roll over and how to make him speak on command. As you would play with Johnathan, Dio was watching you from underneath a nearby tree whilst eating an apple and writing in his notes. You ran over to him and asked if he wanted to play too. "I'm really not one for making myself look foolish, you know" he shot a look at Johnathan. He probably didn't mean to upset you, but you too were playing in the same manour as Jojo. You simply smiled at him, said "alright then" then went back to your bedroom to sleep away the bitter feeling Dio just gave you.

Dios bitterness towards Johnathan began to grow and grow rapidly. Within a matter of months, it had seemed that Dio had isolated Jojo off from the rest of his friends and made a mockery of him everywhere he went. "Dio was never this cruel before..." You sadly mumbled to yourself whilst looking out the window at Johnathan sitting by the river with Danny alone. Then you heard a knock at the door.

Dio entered your room without waiting for a invitation to enter, sat down on your bed looking very sure of himself. He looked quite coy. "What's going on, Dio?" you asked him. He responded with "That Johnathan boy is useless, isn't he. For a gentleman he has no manors, no friends and absolutely no brains." Dio hmph'ed. And looked at you with sinister, cold eyes and asked plainly, "don't you think so too"? "What the e'lls gotten into you Dio?! Why are you so... so... so much more nasty and despicable now then how you were before. If there's something wrong please tell me"! Dio's eyebrows tilted downwards and his nostralls flaired ever so slightly. "You truly think of me as despicable now? You truly think I've only changed just now? Tch, you're just as dumb as that mutt". With that he left the room and closed the door with a bang.

Later that day, you came and told Johnathan about what Dio had said to you. You didn't want to confide in Jojo but you didn't know what else to do. "If he goes around acting all pompous then maybe he really is as rotten to the core as I sensed he was". You weren't entirely sure what Jojo meant by that but you felt a little happy that Jojo would get mad on your behalf. It reminded you of Dio. "Dio..." your head dropped to your hands. "Hey," Jojo took your hands in his and raised them so you would look up at him "it's going to be okay. I can talk to him if you'd like, and I'll always be here for you no matter what" he beamed at you. Compared to Dio now, Jojo felt so bright and pure as opposed to Dio's cold, poisonous aura.

In about a week, you and Jojo had become pretty good friends. You would study together and laugh about nonsense by the river. He was reliable and strong willed and you admired that about him.

George one day assigned you an erriend to run in town. He sent all 3 of you boys into town occasionally as practice and to experience common life. It was more necessary for Jojo then it was for you or Dio though but you complied anyways. You were walking back to the mansion with a basket of yarns and threads in your hands until something quickly cornered you and slammed it's hand against the wall beside you. It was Dio. And he looked more furious than you had ever seen him before.

He passionately and intensely gazed into your eyes for a few seconds then spat out "Why aren't you by my side anymore!? Where the hell are you when I need You!? When I need someone to talk to! When I need...tch!" tears started welling up in his eyes "... you..." you were a little shocked to say the least. You hadn't really seen him in weeks and now he's hunched over you crying? But even after all the things he did to Jojo, his genuine feelings made you forgive him. You slowly reached up and wiped away his tears. Once you finished his placed his hand on yours and held your hand on his cheek. "I must look so utterly pathetic right now..." He joked a little and a small smile started to crack on his face. You joked back, replying with "truly".

Even when it was time for the 3 boys to go to university, Dio never liked Jojo. That never changed. But after that night where Dio was finally telling the truth, things between you two got back to normal, maybe even better then before. Now, Dio could be his complete true self in front of you since you had already seen his horrible side. He was still bitter and his anger was sometimes uncontrolable, but you still loved him. More then anyone. And the fact that you could embrace his true self and still be there, in turn, made him love you even more.

The End
