Girl Meets Boy

The final bell rings ending school. Jasmine, Angel, and I begin to walk home. Jasmine and Angel live a street apart from each other while I stayed a couple of streets away. Jasmine was the first to break the silence.

"What's wrong London?"

"She's nervous about what Sean will think about her" Angel says with a grin on her face.

"Wasn't nobody thinking about him, but now you mentioned him I am" I said thinking about the picture of the mystery boy I had seen earlier.

"Hold up, wait a minute. Who is this Sean that got my best friend smiling already" Jasmine says stopping us in our path. Angel pulls out her phone and shows Jasmine the picture. After Jasmine spent a long time looking at the picture, Angel tries to take her phone away. Jasmine pulls the phone back still looking at the picture.

"Uhuh girl. He is fine with a 2, 4, 6. 6 pack girl yesssss. London yesss." I couldn't help but laugh at my best friend dancing with the phone as though he was there in person.

"I know right. That's gonna be London's new boo" Angel says proudly of what she's about to do.

"Girl, he doesn't even know I exist so stop trying to get my hopes up" remembering what just happened during lunch.

"Girl" Jasmine says still dancing but now on me.

"What ever I don't care....naw I'm lying" finally giving in "I hope he likes me."

"He will" Angel says snatching her phone away from Jasmine.

"You said that the last time" shaking my head.

"And I was right. Rashawn liked you but he just doesn't want a relationship right now" Angel says before we go our separate ways. It was like clock work. We would walk home together, stop at our turning point to talk then home.

When I got to the my house I see that my parents were already gone. My parents the gambling type. They were rarely home. I go through the kitchen searching for something to eat. My oldest brother, Darryl, walks in and sits at the table.

"Wassup, how was school?"

"Sup, and it was cool." I said putting on a pack of Romen noodles.

"I'm finna go to my friend's house in a few so if you need me I'm down the street."

"Whatever and where's Jalyn?"

"In the den with his friends" Darryl says while walking out the door. Darryl was my oldest brother out of the three of us. I usually stay to myself when I'm at home with only my brothers and their friends. So I simply finish cooking my noodles and went to my room to watch tv. After watching t.v. for awhile I get a text from Angel.

Hey, I heard you liked me.

I nearly choked on my noodles reading the text. A big grin came to my face because I knew who it was. I quickly called Jasmine.

"Hello"

"Girl, I think Sean just text me."

"For real!! What he say?" Jasmine says just as eager as me.

"He said 'hey I heard you liked me.' I haven't said anything back yet."

"Why not?"

"Cause I'm scared. What do you think I should say?"

"Umm....just say wassup."

"Okay." I said finally texting them back. It wasn't long before I got a response. I read the text out loud so Jasmine could know what it says as well.
