"hello, my name is ________, how are you?" I asked a bit awkward in English

"yes yes I'm good, I live in Korea, where do you live?" he asked with a cute voice. Wow he came from Korea, the country that I love the most.

"I live in Belgium, my English is not so good, and that’s why I’m here."

"my English is also not so good and my parents want me to practice it, and now I can practice it with you haha" his smile was so beautiful and his teeth so white! We talked and talked. He talked about his hobbies like jazz and his three dogs (who looked by the way super cute in the picture) and I told my hobbies and showed a picture of my two kittens.

“Ow is it already so late, I really should go to sleep, tomorrow it’s school, " he said, I looked at my clock, 6pm.

"Huh but it's only 6pm, at what time do you go to school? 3am or what? "we were both laughing and Kai replied:" No, silly, here it’s already midnight, and at 7am  I must stand up again," I blushed, I didn’t thought about the time difference, he also lives 8925 km away from me ...

"haha sorry completely forgot that there is a time difference, when can I see you again?" He thought for a moment and then said,

"Saturday? At 9pm my time, so 3pm your time? "I was thrilled that he wanted to talk so soon with me again," Sure! See you on Saturday again! "

December 8th, Saturday

I was super curious about what Kai and I could talk today. I had written down some questions so there wouldn’t fall any awkward silences. Suddenly my computer makes a weird sound. On the screen appears: 'Kai is calling you’. I press 'answer'.

"Hi! It’s me again! " Kai said.

"Hey!"... he told that he has seen a super nice movie and that he want to go to ballet, because of that movie. But he is afraid that other people gonne laugh with him and he’s also afraid that he couldn’t handle 2 dances, since he also does jazz.

"Don’t be so shy, follow your heart, if you want to do that, then you should do it," I replied.

"What do you want to achieve in your life?" He asked suddenly.

"I? Eumh nothing special, eumh… ah, I would like to learn skateboarding haha" Kai burst into laughter and I felt myself getting red.

"Why are you laughing at me Kai?" I asked.

"Anio Anio,  I’m not laughing at you, I just thought it was funny that I want to do a kinda girls hobby and you a guys hobby, haha" we laughed together.

"Kai, you look tired, you should go to sleep," I said after a while.

"I know, but it's so cozy with you and my English is getting better and better, like yours, but youre right. I’ll better go to sleep." he replied.

"Thank you haha, when do we speak to each other again?" ...

So ended every conversation we had afterwards. There were many conversations and our English was getting very well, he even taught me some Korean words (what was 1000 x more difficult than English). My aunt was obviously very happy that I did it all for her, to understand her wonderful stories better. But it wasn’t only for her anymore, Kai had become like a soul mate, someone to whom I could tell everything, he was so far away yet so close…
