Hi everyone who cares to read this. I Thank you all for clocking on this story and i really hope you enjoy. I just wanted to tell you that I am kind o new to writing stories like this and that english isn't my first languish so if you find any spelling errors or grammarmisstakes, just take them with a grane of salt and try to enjoy this story. I will try to take it faster with it, trying to get to the overall plot faster than the other stories iver written. Whith is really only one but you get the idea. (please check it out if you want). Ok, now when that's out of the way, lets start.

Sometimes I enter a space where only me and my thoughts exist. When that happens I can't hear anything around me and someone has to snap me back to reality. Then was one of those moments. I was examining the outside world from on the other side of the car window. The countryside was truly a sight to behold and I can't people would rather stay at home with their noses in a phone rather than breathing in the frisk air. I wished i was out there, but as I said i was in a car. The car that would take me and my little brother to our new home and workplace. One of the 8 military baces that keeps our country safe from the constant threats that surround us.

Our country, Challon, isn't particularly popular to the outside world, mostly because its a ruled by a dictator and well known for not taking kindly to mistakes. We are not that advanced when it comes to weapons and equipment but we still managed to keep ourselves in one piece on the battlefield.

The last war we took part in was nearly 100 years ago, and the peace didn't seem to go to an end anytime soon. We didn't live in the best country but at the time i thought that it wasn't as bad as things were made it seem. Looking back I realize what a naive idiot I were for the most of my life.

Anyways back to my daydream in the car. I must have been spacing out for quite a while because I suddenly felt a hand on my left shoulder. I blinked hard and turned to my left to meet the gaze of my brother Lodyai. He gave me a familiar look, the one that says "What are you thinking of". Yeah I got that one a lot, being me. I gave him a warm smile and looked into his hazel eyes.

It isn't hard for people to figure out that be are siblings. Our eyes, hair are the same color and even though Im 3 years older than him, he still equals me in height. We both have really dark brown hair, but not dark enough that I could call it black. His was short and a bit spiky, while mine was just long enough so i could but by bangs behind my ears to get it out of the way.

I saw his eyes filling up in annoyance which made be remember the question he'd silently asked me.

"I just thought about how much people miss out on, sitting at home. I mean it it beautiful outside" I answered his question.

Lodyai looked past my shoulder to see the view and gave me a grin. He moved his hands and said 'You sound like an old man' in sign-language. I frowned and rolled my eyes at him and got back to looking at the view.

If you're wondering why Lodyai doesn't speak, the reason is quite simple, he's mute. The the reason as to why he's mute is far more complicated.

As the minutes turned to hours inside the car, the houses outside the window became more and more. A sign that we were close to the base. It was in the middle of 6th largest city in the nation with made it quite to approach if an enemy were to attack it. That's what the nation's enemies were doing for the most of the war 100 years ago. Attacking the cities and killing the citizens.

Before we knew it we passed thru the wall that separated the city form the outside world. The city was completely covered in buildings of all kinds and uses. The further into the city you went the taller the buildings became. The city.-sound made it's way to my ears and it immediately made me miss the silence of the countryside. For someone that grew up in the bug city, i'm not really the ideal city boy.

I must have gotten lost in my thoughts again because i felt a punch hi my arm, which was an effective way for me to snap out of it. I turned to look at my dear brother, who was staring at me with a frown on his lips. He looked down right irritated.

I gave him a confused look and he responded by pointing out the window. Just then i realized I realized the car had stopped, indicating that we was there.

I looked back at Lodyai and have him a nod before stepping out of the car.

I went to the trunk of the car while lodyai paid the driver. I opened it and pulled out my black (boring) suitcase and Lodyai's light blue (very heavy), big bag. I seriously don't know how my bro always manages to make his bags as heavy as an elephant but i guess that's my bro for ya. I put the bags on the sidewalk and waited for lodyai to get done. Hi's head finally peaked over the car and he began to move over to me.

The car rolled away, leaving us in front of the most important building in the city. It was wide and tall. allmost as tall as one of the skyscrapers by not quite. It was black, grey and white, with windows a little all over and a big wall with electrical wire on top of it surrounding the place.

This was it. This was where me and my brother would live and work. And eventually, discover something that would make our lives take a turn with no going back.
