OLIVIA'S POV
I was laying in bed finishing up my homework when I heard a knock on the door
"Olivia, honey can I come in?" Instantly i knew it was my mom
"Honey, I think we need to talk" she said coming into my room holding a tray of her delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies and two glasses of milk
Why would she want to talk to me?
"Yeah... what do you want to talk about mom?" I said getting up to put away my homework
"Well, I wanted to talk to you about Blake..." right when she said that, i knew there was no way out of this
"Yeah... sure mom what about Blake?" I asked
'What about the bastard that broke my heart?' I thought
"Well... I saw you two together, I mean you getting out of his car. Sweetheart, are you two really broken up?"
"Yeah mom we did" I didn't know where she was going with this
"I was talking to Blake's mother and she had told me that Blake's now dating Elise... you father's friend's daughter.... is that really true?"
"I--- h-he" I couldn't finish the sentence, i broke down crying again
"Oh honey! Please don't cry, he isn't worth it. Blake is a total jackass, just ignore him"
I cracked a smile.. My mom never cusses... I mean NEVER cusses, hearing her cuss is like hearing the pope cuss
My cracked smile turned into a full on grin and that was unnoticed by my mom. She instantly clasped her hands over her mouth.. seems like she knows the error of her ways
"Oh my... don't tell your father about this" she said as she she smiled along
"Mom you don't have to worry about me, im totally fine" I said half heartedly
"Honey to me you are like an open book... i can read you instantly, now stop lying to me" she said
"I don't know mom... im just.. upset and confused. I thought what I had with Blake was real then the next thing i know it im being dumped for someone thats WAY better than me .. i dont know... its just hard to explain mom" I said
" Nothing is hard to explain Olivia.. I used to being a teenager at one point. Your father and I were high school sweet hearts for god sakes, if you think for one moment there werent times when we had fights then you were wrong" she said
"But you two are perfect for each other.. all these years I have never heard you guys fight not even once" I told her
It was true my parents never in a million years fought in front of me and my brother. Both of them are a team.. thats probably the thing that makes them so great with eachother.
"Well thats because in high school during our junior year your father broke up with me." she said
"NO WAY" was all that i could say at that point
" YES WAY" she smiled.. "You know your father was the high school football captain and i was just some normal theatre kid, we dated for about 2 1/2 years and at that point he was only a regular football player whom didn't really get in with the popular kids that much. Once he was appointed captain everything changed, it was like he was a new person. Not long after he started to stand me up when we were planning to meet and instead hung out with the popular kids. He soon broke up with me and started dating the head cheerleader" she said calmly
"I can't believe dad would do that" I said
"yeah well believe honey. I was devastated when he broke up with me.. I thought that I wasn't good enough for your father, maybe the cheerleader had more things to offer than I did. Maybe she had more money, better looks, more influence than I did and that brought my self esteem way down, just like you.. im an open book too and your grandmother came to talk to me just like im doing with you and had the exact same way of helping me cope with the loss... she brought cookies and milk" she smiled and passed me a chocolate chip cookie
