I scream in horror at the sight above me. My mother, my very own mother, with a noose around her neck. I notice that the blood on her face was from the fact that her eyes had been cut out, with the scissors left in. A smile was sliced upon her lips, and her guts hung from the opening of her stomach. Tears began to fall once again, and uncontrollably, I found it hard to breathe. This has to be some sick joke! One really really sick joke! I grab out my phone, and tap on the emergency call button. Right away, the call goes through. "911 what's your emergency?" I hear on the other end. "I!-i need th-the police o-over here r-right right now!" I say, but I then go silent as I realize. If the cops come now, they'll think I killed my parents. I then hear the lady on the other end say something, "Hello? Miss? Are you alright? What's the problem?" I slowly hold the phone back up against my ear and mumble the words,"Sorry, false alarm." Pressing the end call button, I stand in the middle of a bloody mess, and wonder. What am I going to do?

I began to walk back up stairs, when I hear the doorbell ring. Hurriedly, I run up the basement stairs and close the door, then I spray Febreez to make it smell less of metal. I go to the door, and gently open it a crack, making sure to keep whoever was there from seeing the blood stains on the carpet. Mrs. Brown was standing, holding a pound cake. I look at her and smile, "Mrs.Brown, hi!", I say going outside with her. I made sure not to seem suspicious, and thankfully, she didn't find me strange at all. "Hey there, Diana!" She said with her country accent. I looked at the pound cake, and she shoved it up to my hands, "Here!" she said, "I made it just for y'all!" I smile at the cake, mom used to make pound cake every Christmas. I miss her so much. I try to keep the smile on my face, when the tears start falling from my eyes. She freezes and gives the cake to me, "Honey, are you alright? You don't look too good." She then, points out the fact that I have dirt all over my clothes, and that I have dark red on my feet and a bit on my face. I laugh, "Oh, that's because I was helping out mom paint the basement." She lets out a laugh too, "Oh, golly! I thought you had done something awful! Thank the lord, you're still an angel!" My laugh fades out, "Yeah. Still an angel." She notices my change in mood, and shivers, "Well, I better be hittin' the hay stack! Goodnight! Tell yo momma I dropped by."

I collapse onto the porch once she's out of sight. The tears won't stop falling. "Why?" I say looking up to the sky, "What have I done?" I stop looking up when I see glimmering lights in my perivial vision. I hear sirens, and know it's for me. Even though I told the damn lady, she sent people! I quickly run inside, and grab napkins, and some bleach. The blood in the carpet should come out after this! I pour the bleach on the red spot in my white carpet. I pour the bleach all the way to the basement. I can't let them know, or they'll assume it was me! I grab the napkins and start scrubbing into the stain.

I hear the car pull out in front of my house, and hurry to clean up.

"Please no!"
