The door to my new house stood tall in front of me as I fit the key loosely in to the key hole and unlocked the door almost falling as I pried it open. the spacious room was empty with white walls and immersing windows. The auburn, wooden floors shimmered with sunlight. I walked in dragging my rugged suitcase behind me. I put the suitcase against the wall next to my bedroom door as I enter. My bedroom was just as empty as the livingroom, only one window just as big as the others.
I heard a knock at the door hoping it was the movers. As I approaches the door I heard a low whoosh, chills shiver down my spine. I hesitated opening the door as I held onto the handle; I felt the figure on the other side waiting patiently. I gripped the handle harder and finally opened it, the figure hovered over me ,muscular, as I met its eyes. His eyes were shimmering with positivity as a smile approached his olive skin and dimples appeared. "hello new neighbor," His velvet voice welcome sounding quieter than I anticipated but still warming. "h...hello," I stuttered memorized by his elegance. He giggled charmed by my steaming face. " I'm Sage, and you are?"
"A... Amara"
"Haha that's a beautiful name," he smiled again; I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. I tried to smile back but failed as he giggled again. " so I came here to say hello and give you this," he pulled something out of his pocket with a grin and slipped it in my hand, it was an envelope sealed with a wax seal. He eyed me waiting for my expression.
"th..thank you,"
" Haha you're welcome, if you need me i'm right next door," he walked off before I could say anything, I shut the door leaning against it with a sigh of relief that I didn't die from embarrassment. I opened the envelope carefully; there were two notes, I opened the bigger one first.
I opened up the other note not thinking too much about the first one.•(216)-345-8756•
i tried memorizing his number, repeatedly reading it hoping I could find out why he was so mesmerizing.
There was another knock on the door and I jumped falling on the floor giggling as they knocked again. I got up and twisted the handle yanking the door. "Hello, your truck is here would you like us to help or would you like to do it on your own," a petit female with platinum hair question drowsily.
"Hm, i think i got it, thank you,"
"no worries," she smiled and stumbled off almost falling down the stairs.
I grabbed my phone of the kitchen island and typed the number I now had memorized. The phone rung once before I heard him smiling before I said a word. "You need help don't you?" he chuckled
"No, I'm going to do it all myself. come over," I grinned wondering how he was gonna respond. I heard the call end but not too worried. A few second later I heard an excited knock at the door; As I opened it he smirked holding three boxes already with him. "Already starting aren't you?"
"Well we don't have all day."
He set down the boxes in the livingroom and we both went outside to get more. He picked me up and set me down in the truck and asked for me to retrieve boxes and hand them to him.
"Oh!," I yelled dropping a boxes but before it could shatter he caught it with another giggle.★·.·'¯'·.·★ . ★·.·'¯'·.·★
"Whew," he wiped his forehead with his forearm even though there was no visible sweat. Every room was set up nicely, it looked better than i would've made it alone. I poured lemonade into two glass cups as Sage sat at the island staring at me. I looked up and realized he looked just as speechless as he did when we started, no strand of hair left out, no sweat anywhere, his muscles and veins just as beautiful as they were.
"Amara!!," he yelled as i snapped out of my day dream.
"You're over flowing the glass!," I felt a shiver on my hand as the liquid poured over, jumped and put the pitcher down. "Oh shit I'm sorry!," I freaked and went to grab the paper towels but he was one step ahead. "It's okay, try cleaning it up with the towels while I got get a wash cloth," he commanded with a smile that soothed my shaken body. He came back in seconds with cleaning spray and a cloth. I threw the paper towels away as he cleaned the island. I watched from a distance leaning against the counter behind me. "You're quite clumsy aren't you?," he smirked still cleaning. " hmph," I mumbled in embarrassment. He giggled, making eye contact now. I felt my eyes tearing up; I don't know the reason either. Sage was holding me in no time. "Are you okay,?" his voice was soothing and quiet as it once was this morning.
"Y..yeah," I stuttered realizing he was with me, holding me. He was cold, yet I was still warmed by his touch. Holding my face by my chin he pulled my eyes up to his as he wiped a tear. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I'm crying," I attempted to fixated my face into a smile. He released me from his tight grasp and grabbed my shoulders to hold me up straight, in half a second he filled a glass with water and handed it to me gracefully. I didn't question I just gulped down the water to cleanse the taste of my tears. "Thank you," I glanced into his eyes and sipped the rest of the water as he waited there patiently.
"I should shower," I suggested with a gloomy tone.
"Go ahead," he smiled.
I walked into the new bathroom surprised with how astonishing it looked, the shower had me puzzled as the knobs were confusing. When I got out and changed into comfy shorts and a crop top I walked out into the living room stunned to see Sage sitting in my grey butterfly chair. "You sing beautifully," he grinned as I froze not realizing that he heard. "Oh...um, fuck," my face shot red as I sat on the corner of the ottoman. Sage just stared at me, memorizing my features but I couldn't look away I just let his eyes freeze my face. His smile broke the silence evenly. "It's getting late you know?," I questioned not looking for an answer. "Yeah i do need to go," he frowned getting up from the comfort of the chair and headed for the door as I followed behind. "Goodbye," he smiled and embraced me gracefully. Sage walked through the door closing it behind him and my face was still frozen that direction, staring at the door. I sat down right there with my knees pulled to my chest.
