I woke up in front of the door rubbing my eyes as the sun burned through the windows. I sat there, still debating if it was all real; if he was real. Half awake I went into the kitchen thumping my hip into the corner of the island, "Ah fuck," I cried holding on to my hip for reassurance. Eventually, I shook it out and got a cup of water. My phone buzzed on the counter as I grasped for it quickly. "Hello?," I questioned before yawning.
"Haha, good morning," Sage's warm velvety voice echoed smoothly through the phone,
"Good morning"
"Up to anything today?"
"Summer work"
"What are you in highschool ?"
"Haha very funny"
"What college?"
"Ohio Media School"
"Wait really?!"
"Yeah?"
"Hahaha same!"
"Holy shit!!"
"Well guess I get to see you throughout the day tomorrow, goodbye Amara Baize," his velvet voice put a smile on my face as the call got quiet and he ended it. I grabbed a packet of Pop Tarts from the cabinet and starting eating them as crumbs fell from my face. There was a subtle knock on the door, I wipe the crumbs from my face and went to the door; opening it with a shock, I felt my chin fall a little. "Hey hon!," my mom welcomed in her high-pitched, soothing voice. She grasped me in a tight-gripped hug I smiled but it fell short when I saw Frank behind her. "What is he doing here?," I question smug. "He wanted to see how you were doing," Mom grinned as Frank stared at me with a smirk. "Nice to see you too, Sage,"
"Anyways your father and I would appreciate a house tour," I death stared my mom and turned around heading back to the kitchen as they followed quite loudly. I sat down and took a bite of my Poptart, " This is the kitchen, that's the living room and the bedroom is in the hall," I pointed each direction as I payed attention to their expressions. "Did you furnish it all by yourself," Frank asked, which I was hoping he wouldn't cause I still hadn't came up with a lie. "No, I had the movers help," I watched carefully for his satisfied face and he continued looking around at every corner.
"So what are you doing here?," I questioned waiting for Mom to answer.
"We came here to see you and to go to fair, if you wanna come," Frank answered as I kept my eyes on Mom. "I'm good, thanks for the offer though," I got up to throw away my trash. "Oh, well you see," Frank started. "Sage I know you don't like Dad but come on it will be fun," Mom had her eyes on me trying to fool me into the worse time of my life. "I'm good, I have things to do today that don't consist going through hell," I went and grabbed my bag to start on my homework while I felt both of their eyes on me. "She's right love, we should just let her be," Frank nodded and I felt myself shiver, Frank actually agreed with me?
"Alright well you seem busy hon so we will leave," Mom smiled, kissed my forehead and was out the door before I knew it. I sighed with a relief. Mom and Frank got a divorce three years ago because he was having an affair with Mom's dearest friend, but just recently Mom decided to give him a second chance which he doesn't deserve; she's happy so I guess that's all I can be grateful for.★·.·'¯'·.·★ . ★·.·'¯'·.·★
I wrote down my last math problem with a pen drained of ink and I heard a knock on the door causing me to jump a little in my seat. As I opened the door a familiar figure held me cold. "Hey Amara," Sage welcomed with his brightening teeth. He took the breath out of me forcing me to only be able to smile and wave. "Haha, sorry." He giggled while holding my hands. "What are you doing here?," I questioned while going to sit on the couch as he followed. "Just wanted to see how you were doing," he kept his eyes on me from the other side of the couch while my legs kept the space between us. "I'm doing fine, my parents came over to welcome me into the new living situation , I guess that was okay," I explained as I started to fumble with the bottom of my top. "Well that was nice of them," he grinned and got up, determined."Where are you going?," I questioned but he went into the hallway ignoring my question. I attempted to follow him but he signaled me to go sit back on the couch. He came out of my room with a pair of light blue, high waisted jeans ;black combat boots; and an olive, cropped tank top that I never worn together. "Go put this on," he demanded making my stomach flutter. I struggled to get my bedroom door shut but once I did I slipped the outfit on admiring it in the mirror hung up next to my door. "Holy shit!,"I giggled and he came in without knocking to see what I was yelling about. "I don't even need to dress myself anymore, I'm considering getting you to be my personal stylist," I smiled watching his eyes on me as he admired the outfit himself. "It looks lovely," Sage admitted holding me by my shoulders to get one last look. "So why did you get me to change?," I questioned watching his expression. He stared at me for a brief second intertwined his fingers smoothly with mine and dragged me out the door with a smile. Sage opened the door of his Audi R8 with a smile. I got in and he shut the door, before i got buckled he was already opening the door and sliding into his seat with the key in his hand. "Where are we going?," I questioned waiting for his clarification but he just put the keys in and turned on the engine. As he drove i looked out the side window interested in everything, wondering where our destination was. I turned to look at him and he was still as a statue, perfectly smooth and glimmering. Sage met eyes with me and smiled his shiny white teeth which makes my heart skip a beat or two. "We are almost there," he disclosed making me feel more nauseous. I grinned watching his facial expression rather than where we were or what was going on around us until my eyes fell restfully with a grin. The car came to a stop, which awoke me slowly, considering i didn't hear the sweet rumbling of the engine any longer. "Amara," his smoothing voice has a rasp from the quiet drive. "huh?," i questioned rubbing my eyes with a yawn. "You look beautiful," he explained with a tone that was so pure and truthful that i would kiss him right then and there if there wasn't my fear of rejection as a blockade between the two of us. He got out of the car but before shutting the door he reminded me," put your shoes on," i looked down and assumed i must have managed to get them off right before i fell asleep. By the time he was at my door i was almost finished putting on my right one and he gladly tied it for me. We made eye contact and smiled at each other. After shutting the door i couldn't hold in my curiosity any longer, so what is this destination we are heading for?," he was playing with my hand while we walked, intertwining and twisting his fingers with mine debating whether he should tell me or keep it a surprise but before he made up his mind i saw where we were heading. Yellow lit up the area for miles upon miles. "Oh my gosh!, you're kidding me!" i smiled so bright that he couldn't help but stare, "i thought you might want to come see them before it gets closed," he held my hand tighter as he kept his eyes only running through the people passing by. The pressure on my hand was only getting stronger and if i didn't say something i would soon lose the circulation of my fingers,"Sage..," i struggled to grab his attention,"Sageee..," i attempted to slip out of his grasp but it was practically impossible," Sage!!," i yelled tugging at my arm with my right hand while all eyes were on me."Oh!, i'm so sorry Amara," he genuinely apologized as he loosened his grip and continued to walk towards the ticket stand.
