Addiction

You came into my life when I was so young,

Too innocent to ignore your charms,

As you enticed me,

Tethering me to your desires,

You became my life.

...

You just let me love you,

Knowing that you wouldn't always be there to love me back,

You gave me bliss, passion and adventure,

Which I'll be eternally grateful for.

However your excruciating absence makes my arteries scrape against each other.

...

You're in my veins, scorching me,

I can't get you out,

You're all I taste, your alluring love intoxicating my mouth,

Even your wondrous aroma sends me to Wonderland,

You make me see the world in new lights, new wonders.

I scream at you, but all I get back is an echo.

I need you!

...

Even when I think I've had enough,

Your chains rope me back in, coiling itself around my soul maliciously,

You're drowning me in my own tainted blood,

I can see everyone breathing fine around me,

Why are you doing this to me?

...

Your beauty swirls around my vision,

Setting your hooks deeper into my heart,

My distorted heart, that you make beat ten times faster,

I'm my best,

And worst,

When I'm with you.

...

You destroy people, but you chose to love me,

Blow the mellow smoke of your essence into my lungs,

I can't get you out of my head, which you have blistered beautifully,

Everything's dark in my world now, you control my life,

You control me.

...

The thing is I'm so mesmerised by you to even know,

To even care how much power you have in your pale palms.

...

So tell me, is this an addiction?

Or is it something else?
