I walked through my company office, occasionally looking to my sides giving my employees smiles and small hello's.
I looked down at my watch and realised I was supposed to meet my new assistant soon, she may not be here long if she's like every past assistant I've had.
I speed up slightly once I see my right hand man standing next to my office. He started tapping his foot and checked down at his watch to tell me I'm late.
As I approach, he stops what he's doing and starts to talk, "You're late" Shawn says whilst rolling his eyes.
"I'm the boss here, I can show up when I want" I shoot back, "Also, I'm in charge of hiring and firing here." I say as I point at him.
"You wouldn't dare," He laughs back, pushing my finger down.
"Try me." I mumble under my breath, Shawn just laughs again.
"Here," Shawn says as he hands me a coffee, "You're gonna need it" He once again laughs.
I roll my eyes at him and take a sip of my drink, I cringe, "It's cold."
"If you were here on time it would have been warm" He says whilst crossing his arms, I shrug my shoulders and decide to drink it anyway.
"Anyway, get in there the poor girls been waiting for the past hour" Shawn says as he pushes me through the open door of my office, "Go get em' tiger!" He said whilst whacking my ass and then starts to walk away.
I roll my eyes for like the 100th time this morning, I take a sip of my bitter coffee and turn around.
Holy shit.
Who does that ass belong too?
Keep it together Y/N, you have a girlfriend.
The girl eventually turns round and smiles at me, "You have a little something on your shirt" she says with a light blush.
"Oh shit" I look down to see that whilst I was staring I managed to spill my coffee on myself, now I'm actually thankful it wasn't hot.
I cough and try and get back into my "tough boss" image, "Please take a seat, Miss..."
"Cabello, it's Miss Cabello. You can just call me Camila though." She says with a smile as she extends her hand to shake mine.
"I'll just stick to Miss Cabello" I say in a monotone voice as I replicate with a strong hand.
Her smile slightly falters as I say that but I chose to ignore it because we're not friends, we're both here to work and that's how it will stay.
I walk around to my desk and sit down behind my computer, I reach my hand out to the couch sitting in front of my table to indicate for her to sit there.
"So, Miss Cabello," I say as I pick up my glasses and place them on my face, "how are you qualified for this job?"
That question clearly caught her off guard, "Um, well" she stutters out and pauses to think. She then sits up straight and answers confidently "Well, I'm great with time management, I can handle difficult situations..." she continued to ramble and list all of her qualifications as I just started to zone out.
"You're hired" I cut her off and she just looked at me shocked.
"Just like that?" she questioned, tilting her head slightly.
Damn, that was cute.
"Unless you suggest another way to prove you're suitable for the job?" I questioned staring at her.
"N-no, that's great. Thank you so much!" she says trying to contain her excitement.
"Don't thank me yet, I'm giving you a trial run. I run things here with a 3 strike policy, you essentially have room for three errors, if you mess up more than three times, you're-"
"Out" Camila finishes my sentence whilst gulping.
"Precisely, good to see you can catch out." I say reaching for my phone, "I'll get my receptionist to show you around and give you all of the job details, her name is Ally and she knows all the ins and outs of the business." I say as I start dialling the number on the phone, she simply nods her head to show she understands.
The phone rings twice and then I hear a sweet hello, "Hello, Miss Brooke. Can you come up to my office and show Miss Cabello around?" I ask whilst fiddling with a random pen on my desk. She simply replies with a yes and says she will be up in five minutes.
"I will say one more thing before you leave this room. Everything that happens in this building is professional, I do not care if you fall in love and start some cliche Romeo and Juliet romance, I do not and I repeat DO NOT want to see it here in my building. Do understand?" I say in a harsh voice to get my point across.
She awkwardly nods and stands up and mumbles a thank you then leaves when she sees Ally enter.
I sigh once Miss Cabello left the room, I felt a bit guilty for the way I acted towards her, but I just don't have the patience for assistants anymore.
I decoded just continue with the paper work that I left last night.
