Unexpected Call?

I woke up with the son shining in my eyes. Ugh I don't want to get up. I laid there for awhile about to fall asleep when I hear a loud bang and a groan.

To that I got up confused. What the heck? I walked across the hallway where the noise was coming from.

I should have known. Zach's room. I roll my eyes and walk in. I see Zach holding his arm. I walked over and realized he was cut. I looked at the ground to see his skateboard shelves are all knocked down. I look at his face to see his eyebrow cut. I try not to laugh as we make eye contact.

"Shush! It wasn't my fault" he said with a smile on his face. I shook my head and dragged him to the bathroom. I had him sit on the counter as I bent over to grab the first aid kit.

"By the way, nice outfit" zach said which I could hear the smile on his face. I grabbed it and looked up. I put it on the counter and looked in the mirror. It was then I realized what I had on.

I blushed and went to run out of the room. Zach grabbed my waist gently before I made it to the door. "Where are you going princess? You look beautiful." Zach said making eye contact. He started scanning my body which made me cross my arms.

"Zach I want to grab a shirt."
I said sticking my bottom lip out in a pout. Zach rolled his eyes. "You don't need one tho babe. But if you must have one". Zach stopped talking and took off his shirt. I couldn't help but stare at his toned body. Zach laughed at me. He then started sliding the shirt on me. I lifted my arms so it could go all the way down. It went down past my shorts.

Anyways back to cleaning him up. He apparently was putting up the boards from yesterday when the shelf collapsed. He stuck his arm up to stop it from hitting his face. That's how it ended on his arm and eyebrow. J bandaged him up and then kissed him. He smiled. I pulled back and started walking out.

"Zach I'll be back. I have to go get ready for the day." Zach just stood in his bathroom doorway leaning there. "Hurry up babe". I just gave him a thumbs up and walked out. I got in my room turning in music and hopped in the shower and did my routine. I decided to just put on mascara today.

I didn't feel like doing my hair today so I put it in a messy bun. I went back into Zach's room as promised.  He was laying on his bed on his phone. I plopped down right next to him. He looked over and smiled.

We laid like that talking for awhile until the boys needed him for something. I just grabbed my book that I kept in here and started reading. I was reading for about five minutes when my phone was vibrating. It was from an unknown number. Wierd who's calling me??

S: Hello?
?: Scarlett is that you?
S: Jodie?
J: yes sweetie it's me. Listen honey I need to tell you something.
S: yes? What is it? Is everything okay?
J: well that's the thing honey. Claire was hurt in a hunting accident. She's in the hospital. She's not looking too good. The boys weren't answering so I called you.
S: oh my god! Is my baby okay? Where are you I'll be there as soon as possible?
J: we are in Wisconsin
S: alright tell my baby I'll be there soon.
J alright honey see you!
S: bye love you
I hung up the phone. I was about to get up when I looked into the doorway.

There was a hurt Zach standing there. He looked upset. "Aww babe what's wrong?" I asked going to caress his cheek. He swatted my hand away. He looked mad now.

"Who were you on the phone with?" He asked blocking the doorway. "Well I was ju-" "I asked you a question. Who were you calling babe and saying I love you to?" I was hurt by this I just wanted to leave. "I was taking to Jodie. You know the closest thing I have to a mother? Oh and for your information I was calling Clair my baby. We are so close. She's like a sister to me. It's just what we do. Now if you would just move out of my way so I could go pack. She got into a hunting accident and I'm going to see her." I said shoving him out of the way.

He was speechless. "Scar wait I'm sorry. I was being protective. I thought you were calling someone else yours." He said while following me to my room. I smiled as I shut the door in his face. I packed my bag and grabbed my money. I opened the door and almost got to the front door when I was picked up and sat on the couch. Whoever it was I was kicking and punching. When I was sat down jack laid across my lap to stop me from getting back up.

"Thanks jack" I muttered sarcastically.  He just smiled up at me. I looked forward and realized Zach was in front of me. He looked upset.

"Scar im coming with you. A fun roadtrip. I'm really sorry about assuming you were talking to someone else." He apologized. I wouldn't look at him. Soon I felt a finger on my chin gently facing my gaze towards Zach. How could I say no to that cute face.

I just smiled and shook my head yes. Jack got off of me and Zach picked me up and kissed my cheek. He grabbed both of our bags and we left after saying bye to the boys. He was still carrying me.

He gently set me down in the passages seat before putting our bags in the trunk. I opened the glove compartment and saw a loaded snack container. Sweet! This is going to be an interesting trip.
