a whole new world

one

     just wanted to let y'all know that English is not my first language, previously apologize for any mistakes that i might commit, i hope you enjoy.

     It's 8am josie just arrived at school, just as she enters the brunette sees her emma talking to alex, her boyfriend, who josie despises 'he's not good enough for her' - josie thinks as she approaches the couple.
     - "heyy, lovin' birds sup?" — she says internally wanting to puke
     - "hey jo" "hello josie" — the couple greeted
     - "so are you both up to the party tonight?" — alex asks the girls, both of them stare at the boy with confused looks on their faces
     - "weren't you invited to anna's party? she's gathering half of the school at her place tonight at 8pm" — the guy explains
- "ohh yeah i was, but since when are we friends with anna?" — josie asks
- "since she started throwing some wild ass parties... c'mon! aren't you coming?
- "n-"
- "yes she is" — emma answers
josie gives emma a killing stare, but alex doesn't notice.
    - "yes, i'm coming, what time will you come get me?"
    - "hmmm, is 7:50pm okay?"
    - "sure"

*bell rings* they go to their respective classes

josie has biology on first period, as she enters the room she notices anna talking to penelope — josie always had a crush on penelope, but since their groups were enemies she never admitted that, not even to herself — they were talking about the party, apparently penelope was in charge of the refreshments.
      - "good morning class" — the biology teacher has arrived - "you'll be sitting in pairs today" — josie hated that she didn't have any friends in biology class, but soon she was approached by this awkward guy who she knew has had a crush on her since 2nd grade.
     - "h- hey, jo-josie" — the way he talked made her feel uncomfortable
     - "hey..." — josie said as she forgot the boy's name
     - "...benjamin" — he added
     - "benjamin! yes! of course! sorry" — she said with embarrassment
     he gave her a weak smile and continued - " i was wondering if you'd like to pair with me for this class?"
     she wanted to say no but she knows she doesn't have much choice so she smiled and said yes
     as the class went on josie started feeling a big amount of powerful energy surrounding her, she looked around and realized penelope starring at her, once their eyes met the raven-haired girl smiled and winked, josie started blushing so she turned around but she couldn't help but smile.

*the class ends and everyone heads home to get ready for the party*

     it's 7:30 penelope is at anna's place helping her organize the party...
     - "so... josie..." — anna said waiting for penelope to continue
     - "what about her?"
     - "don't play dumb with me pen, i saw you staring at her today"
     - "i have nothing to say about this"
     - "so you like her..?"
     - "i don't even know her..."
     - "i feel like there's a "but" there"
     - "... but i think she's really cute"
     - "you know she's from the other group right?"
     - "yeah, but i can't help it..."
     - "wait.. penelope park has a CRUSH?" — anna says mocking the other girl
     - "could you not? i just think she's cute, no big deal..."
     - "sure" — she says clearly nor believing a single word her friend said
they finished organizing the party and went upstairs to get ready before the guests start arriving. The party started, and at around 8:15 josie, emma and alex arrived. The brunette went to the kitchen to get a drink and as she stepped in the room she locked her eyes with the prettiest girl at the party:
- "hey jo, what would you like to drink?"
- "hii pen, hmmm i'd like a soda please"
- "responsible driver?" — penelope asked jokingly
- "yeah, it's my turn to drive" — the taller girl said as she rolled her eyes
both girls chuckled, josie got her drink:
- "thanks pen"
- "sure"
both girls left to find their respective friends.
     josie finds emma, and the girl looks at the brunette who is wearing a smile from ear to ear, the blonde girl is confused, josie didn't even want to be there what changed?
     - "hey jo, what's with the smile?"
     - "this is a party i thought we were supposed to have fun"
     - "yeah but you didn't want to come in the first place, what changed?"
     - "nothing, i just decided that i'll enjoy the party" — josie said as she turned around to talk to someone else.
     than it hit her, josie talked to someone who made her happy, emma had to figure out who that was, she needed to make sure her friend is safe and won't get hurt. She had to do something about it so emma gently grabbed josie's arm pulled her close and whispered:
     - "who did you talk to?"
     - "i don't think i follow" — josie said confused
     - "you suddenly changed your mind abou the party, and you're all smiley, who did you talk to that made you feel happy?"
     - "no one"
     - "i know you josie... don't lie to me"
     - "fine... i talked to... penelope" — josie said hesitant
- "penelope as in penelope park??? ohh josie that girl is trouble"
- "i don't know, she was really nice to me today, and she has never actually done anything bad for any of us"
     - "we're not really friends with her, she's from the other group"
     - "yeah and we're not friends with anna either and guess what?.. we're at her house" — josie said impatiently
- "do what you want, i'm just trying to look after you, i don't trust that girl"
- "look, i appreciate what you're doing but i don't need your protection"
- "fine... are you planning on approaching her or?"
josie smiled to see that her friend was willing to help her.
     - "to be completely honest, i don't know"
     they were planning how josie would approach pen, what they didn't expect was penelope approaching josie, while they were talking josie felt a soft touch on her right shoulder, she turned around only to see the raven-haired girl holding a glass of soda.
      - "i got this for you, since it has been a long time since you got yourself a drink i figured you might me thirsty"
      emma realized that was her cue to leave
     - "thanks pen, that was really thoughtful of you, i was actually about to get some more... so... you spent the whole party taking care of the beverages?"
     - "to be honest i was just hoping you'd show up to get a drink and give me an excuse to talk to you, but you never did so i had to make a move"
     josie was blushing really hard, she chuckled, drank her soda and put the empty glass on the table next to her. Penelope seeing josie's reaction smirked and said:
     - "you look really cute when you're nervous"
     - "stop it" — she said as she laughed and looked away
     penelope placed her finger under josie's chin making her look up, when their eyes met it was like the whole world had stopped, they just stared at each other until penelope smiled, josie smiled back at her, placed her hand on penelope's neck and slowly got closer until their foreheads met and seconds later their lips, it was a passionate and calm kiss, like they have been wanting it for so long that they were enjoying every bit of it, as the kiss was getting closer to the end josie placed her hand behind penelope's ear, as she carefully felt the girl's hair through her fingers, she has always wanted to touch the shorter girl's hair, the feeling was even better than she imagined, as their lips unlocked they opened their eyes and saw each other smiling, although they were both worried about what the kiss meant, was it a one time thing? As penelope was lost in her thoughts she was pulled back to reality as she heard:
     - "hey" — josie said softly
penelope couldn't help but smile. They were interrupted by alex who was really drunk, and needed josie to drive him home. Josie then looked at penelope with an apologetic look as she whispered
- "sorry"
- "it's okay, go" — penelope whispered in reply, she just stayed there watching as josie left.

*at home 2am*

they were both home laying in bed but neither of them could sleep, they kept reliving that moment, remembering every touch, every feeling, josie made a spell so she would be surrounded by stars, they give her comfort, she wants to ask penelope "what are we?" but she doesn't feel like she can, overwhelmed by her thoughts she manages to fall asleep.
