A loud ribit sounded next to my ear shocking me awake, I swear I almost fell off my chair to see a giant toad next to where my head was, right on top of my pikachu pencil case! I squealed a little, only to get a rather unperturbed look from the slimy looking giant toad, the worse part was when it proceeded to ribit sadly before exploding itself and all its slime... All over my room AND the home work I had finally completed. Peachy.
"DARREN! Get your fat butt in here!!" I shouted shaking slightly as I stared down and my slime covered homework, even the book had woke up, its expression said it all, i'm going to have to redo it unless Darren helped me... A grunt sounded from his room through the wall.
Soon he dragged himself in, his expression transforming into one of annoyance before huffing "Great, now look what you've done Keira." he spared me a glare before crouching down to examine the slime "ME?!" I stood shoving my chair back "Your blaming me for THIS?! I was just minding my own business when I looked up to see a toad EXSPLODE, and its MY fault?!" I shout, throwing in some dramatic hand gestures, which my brother promptly ignored, as he took some of the slime from the floor and plopped it into his mouth "Toad number 192.." he muttered to himself. "First, gross. Second, remove your slime, now." I said this as I looked down at my homework once more..
With a sigh Darren waved his hand, clearing the slime instantly, to have it reappear as a ball above his hand. I sighed once more, sitting my butt back down and muttering a small thanks. In case you were curious, yes my homework was slime free. With a seemly practised grace, my brother swung his lab coat as he turned to leave the room, but not without muttering something about Gretchen.. And then once again comes the croaking in sequence.
With my mad warlock of a brother gone I shoved all my work into my bag, the book kinda didn't like this "Oi, what about your--" and I shut the bag in his face. I had better things to do, well no I didn't.. Glancing down at my watch i realise I've spent the night at my desk, and I do have better things to do... School. Cringe.
After a quick shower and change, and no, no magic showers I wish, I grab my bag and head down for some breakfast, now magic breakfast on the other hand!
As I get down to the kitchen I sit down at the table and the table cloth shimmers in front of me before a face appears, like a sweet old granny smiling, "Good morning Keira! The usual breakfast?" I nod down at the cloth face and it disappears briefly before a big puff of smoke appeared before me, and breakfast, tada, exciting I know... You think since they're using magic they could do whatever they want, but nope the puff of smoke was the best they had.
I make my way through my breakfast as I hear a hard crunching sound coming from in front of me. Looking up I see its my dad, well my dads familiar in front of my plate, its kinda vibrating as it makes rather loud crunching noises. Little filler why this always weirds me out, my dads familiar is a rock. Yes a rock, like a pet rock.. A telepathic rock, about the size of a pint glass. And it eats rocks, so its a smallish telepathic cannibal rock that has a thing for me.. How do I know it has a thing for me? Its incessant need to eat in front of me, I really think it only eats in front of me.
Ahem, I look up to see my dad and I smile sheepishly, the mans like a ninja, "Good morning dad, and Rock." My dad smiles back at me and the rock stops eating briefly to vibrate loudly against the table in greeting, and continues eating. My dad, being this silent type, simply goes back to his porridge, seemingly enjoying the peace.
And rightly so as my mother barges through the door, deeply in conversation with Abriel, a couple of high pitch squeaks and kissy faces are enough for me as I shovel my food in my mouth, grab my stuff and launch myself out the door. And faintly as I leave I hear the crunches noise stop.
