"Sawyer, Sawyer, Sawyer." He leaned back in his chair, probably debating on what punishment he has set for me.
"I'm trying to think of a punishment that will excuse you for this kind of behavior."
I leaned back, trying to hide myself. I was very embarrassed and scared.
"Skipping class ? Really?" He justified.
"I'm sorry Mr, Heath. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal." I rejected. He scolded at me. Obviously disappointed. I was one of the top students in 8th grade.
"I'm going to give you a warning Mrs, Williams." He said sternly.
My eyes lite up, thank god! My father would be so disappointed.
"Oh thank you! Thank you! I won't do it again!" I cheered.
"If you do, your parents will be called and you will be serving a lunch detention. Now get to class and explain to your teacher while your late." He took out a note pad and wrote me a pass to give to my teacher. I grabbed it from him and grabbed my bags.
"Have a good day Mr, Heath!" I called as I excited the room.

***
"How was your day at school Sawyer ?" My father asked as he ate the food my nanny had prepared for him before work. You see, my dad has a very complicated job. He works for the FBI as an homicide agent. He is rarely home, as for my mother. She isn't in the picture. She is somewhere in the islands living life with her new family. I have a step mother, she was unable to have kids, she isn't my mother but other than my nanny she is the only female I have in my life. Not that I wouldn't mind it just being me and my dad, she can be a... nuisance.

"It was ok..." I lied. I know Mr, Heath
didn't call him. There is no way he would know.
"Are you sure Sawyer?" He inquired. Crud! He knows. Yup. He for sure knows.
"Your teacher called me earlier." Here it goes. "She was asking if you were ok. So of course my mind thinks the worse, but it turns out you were just skipping class." He lets go of his fork and it makes an awful sound whenever it clashes with his plate. I just stood there. I wasn't sure what would be the right thing to say.
"I'm sorry daddy." I said tearfully.
"No excuses Sawyer. You're grounded until further notice." I was about to accept my punishment whenever I realized tonight was the last home game of the season! All of my friends are going!
"Dad! The last home game is tonight! You know that!" I snapped at him, he gave me a stern look and pointed upstairs motioning me to my bedroom. I knew better than to argue with him. That would get me no where.
I marched up stairs making sure to stomp my foot with more force than usual. I walked into my room and plopped down on my bed. I threw my pillow into my face and let out a very frustrated scream. I threw the pillow across the room knocking some things off my dresser.
I looked up from my floor to my door as I heard knocking coming from it. It better be father ready to apologize !
"Come in." I said angrily. Susan, my nanny, walked in. She had her brown hair up in a tight bun, with a cleaning outfit my father assigned to her. He is so extra.
"What's wrong sweetie ?" She said as she sat down on my bed next to me. As soon as she asked me that tears ran down my face. I hated crying, but I really wanted to go!
"Father won't let me go to the last home game!" I fussed. She rubbed my back and whispered hushed things to me.
"Sweetie, sometimes in life we have to do things we don't want to." She soothed to me.
"Miranda wants you to come to dinner." She stated. Remember the step mom I mentioned earlier ? Yeah. That's Miranda.
"She said to wear something nice, doll." Of course she did. Why wouldn't she ?
"It's only going to be us and maybe father!" I argued.
"I'm sorry dear, I must do as she says." She said, I could tell she didn't understand Miranda's logic either. I stood up and Susan rummaged through my closet looking for something nice. I was looking at my reflection whenever she came up behind me, holding a simple summer dress. I hated dresses ! With a passion.
"Here Sawyer. Try this!" She said. I gave her a disgusted look. I tried on the dress and looked at my reflection.
"I look hideous!" I whined.
"Please Sawyer. You could wear a trash bag and look just as beautiful as always!" My whole life I have been told how beautiful I was. I had long naturally wavy hair, bright blues. My father never had to pay for braces because I was born with naturally strait teeth. I had freckles covering the bridge of my nose, along with some natural pinky cheeks. I was only 14, but I already had some curves showing. I turned around to face Susan. I faked a smile.
Then a switch went off in my head. Like a light bulb. I was going to that game and no one was going to stop me!
"Thank you Susan. I'll be down in a second !" I said hugging her then shooing her out.
"Ok Sawyer. Don't take long we wouldn't want the witch to be upset !" She joked. That's what we would call Miranda behind her back. I laughed as I closed the door behind her.
Ok... game-plan?
I stripped off my sundress and pulled on some skinny jeans, with my school sweat shirt. I pulled on my checkered vans. Okay... how was I going to go about this ?
I opened my window. This is going to hurt but at least I'll be at the game with my friends soon. I closed my eyes as I leaped from the window and waited for impact. Whenever I landed my legs buckled from under me and I landed on my knees. I stood up and brushed the dirt and grass off my knee with my hands. Ha ! I did it. No broken bones, and I'm not bleeding. SCORE! I mentally cheered.
The school is only 10, blocks away so it should only be about a 15 minute walk from here. I checked my back pocket to tell my friends I was on the way whenever I realized I left my phone. I looked in my hoodie pocket.
Great. I left my phone. Oh well, it'll probably be gone once father realizes I've snuck out anyways. I walked out of my drive way and onto the side walk, I was so excited I was doing this! I can't wait until I get there.
***
Only 4 more blocks. The "15 minute" walk turned into 30 freaking minutes ! God I've got to speed up my pace. I felt something sniffing my leg, I turned around to see a dog. He must be a stray. I petted him, and told him to shoo. I watched him walk away. A smile was brought to my lips. I loved dogs. I turned around and ran into something large. I looked up to meet someone wearing red contacts.
"Oh sorry. I didn't see you there." I said trying to move out of the way. He just stood there. Then in a split second he was behind me and his hand was over my mouth.
Panic had set in and I began to scream. I thrashed my legs around. What is this guy ? A freaking bodybuilder? I turned his mouth to my ear.
"Be good little one or things are going to get a lot worse." He warmed in a very stern voice. Before I could blink I felt something sharp go into my neck. I looked to my left, it was a large needle. I blinked a few more times, then darkness consumed me.
