Lily's POV
As I walked up the marble step into who knows where, I looked down at my slightly exposed shoes. Every step they popped out from under my thick black gown.
Besides the small echo of the bass on the inside of the building, there was complete silence.
A broad door was opened ahead of me. My pumps clicked on the pavement as I entered. The music loudened as the door shut behind me.
Who were all these people? Why was I entering alone?
Looking around me, I repositioned the black masquerade mask to better my line of vision. I spotted somebody I recognized.
Harry.
Frowning, I started to make my way towards him, recalling the rules I was given. You must always stay with him otherwise... Well I didn't like the thought of otherwise. He was flirting with a dozen girls right in front of my face. Really stretching his boundaries eh?
This place is probably loaded with paparazzi's Harry! Why are you so stupid? I screamed but my words stay inside my throat. They wouldn't escape my lips.
Harry must've saw me out of the corner of his eye because his head whipped in my direction. He waved me over.
I started to clatter my heels once more towards him but I felt a rumbling in my mind.
It was almost as if someone was calling "LILY!" But I couldn't hear it. I felt it coming from my right.
I turned my head and I saw a boy, his hand outstretched for me. His red mask glistened in the ballroom lights. Who was he? What was he doing?
I couldn't make out his face, but he looked wonderful tonight whoever he was, and my eyes were not unglueing themselves from him that easily. All that was visible for me to make out was his dark brown hair, gelled nicely to look more formal.
I took his hand without question.
The windows were open and the wind tickled my nose, my body shivering.
What?
Oh, I was just dreaming.
I cranked my neck to Harry's side. We usually woke up brushing against eachother, his bare arms comforting my shivering skin. But he wasn't there this morning.
I shot up from my perch on the bed. My eyes darting around me. I had made him sleep on the floor the day of our fight, I never said he needed to sleep their yesterday..
As much as I despised him, I missed his warm touch.
Rubbing my temples I pondered some thoughts in my mind.
What was that all about anyway?
The only males in my life right now were my brothers, father, and Harry. But, Harry was off flirting with the girls in my dream. It couldn't have been him. But who was this man? Was he like my Prince Charming or something?
It was just a dream, Lily, don't think too much of it.
I waved the thought out of my mind and got out of the bed. If Harry was out and about without me, I might as well go and play today. It had been awhile since I had touched those ivories. I tiptoed to my usual spot on the black bench and layed my hands in their position to play my favorite of all the songs I had ever played. One Last Wish.
