Start of the outbreak

Living in Z-Land

Breakfast was well and truly interrupted, as I heard a scream from outside. I quickly stood up and ran to my window, as my hand was shaking I moved my curtain.I couldn't believe what  was seeing, I didn't stay there long to see much I saw My best friend ally get bit by something. I ran to my kitchen and began packing all my food and things I necessarily needed and a Knife and with that I ran out my apartment  to my car and started driving. That's when the world changed.

I began driving down the road trying to avoid anything in the way, my phone started ringing. Taking one last peak at the road I quickly grabbed my phone. I answered it and on the other side was my mom. I gave a sigh of relief and started talking to her.

"Mom? Are you okay? What's going on?" I spluttered out in a rush. I heard my mom start crying.That's when I knew something was wrong.

" Well..Millie..Your dad is .. Gone.." My mom managed to say through her tears. This took time to process after it did that's when my tears started falling.

"How mom?" I asked. My mom took a while to reply. When she finally did reply, she said the think I feared the most.

" Millie...You do know this is a zombie land now right? A zombie killed you dad " My mom said before a stomach curdling scream was heard.

"Mom? Mom? Mom?!" My voice got more panicked when she didn't say anything. Until, I heard something that sounded like a groan. My eye's widened at the noise and I quickly ended the call. I pulled my car to the side of the road and placed my head in my hands beginning to cry silently. ' My mom..my dad. Ally..Everyone gone..' I thought as I was beginning  to lose hope. Then I looked at my shaking hands and shook my head. I was going to get through this. For my mom. For my dad. For ally .I wiped away my tears and lifted up my head. Taking a big sigh, I shifted into my seat again beginning to drive forwards. Until, thump!. My blood went cold as I came to a halt. I gulped and grabbed my knife. I opened my car door carefully and poked my head out the door. 

Was it a smart move? Probably not.

I gripped the knife that hard my knuckles was turning white. I loosened my grip a bit but still hanging on strong. I started walking to the front of the car. I felt like being sick once I saw what was under my car. A zombie. It's flesh was starting to peel of and it was Horrific. I bent down and stabbed the head. ' I'd hate to do that again ' I thought to myself. I stood back up and began walking back to the car shutting the door as I get in.

I was driving for hours until it finally started to get dark as I was driving I noticed a lot of abandoned cars but i'm sure I saw a figure behind a car. I stopped and grabbed my knife and got out my car. I ducked behind a car and peered over. I saw a girl looking about the same age as me. I stared at her till I decided to stand up. I placed my knife down and holded up my hands I walked up to her. 

" Hello..I'm Millie "  I said as I looked at the girl. She stared at me and then she smiled. 

"I'm Chloe " She replied with a nod. I looked around and saw nobody else so I guess she was the only one.

" What are you doing out here? " I asked her questionably.  She hesitated then replied.

" I'm not staying in that City. That would be calling to get eaten or bitten " She said with a chuckle.

This had me thinking. I thought for a minute then nodded.

" Come with me " I said as I lead her to my car. I opened the door and she got in the other side. Then we drove off. Without the knife as none of us liked violence so we agreed to try lead them away and ignore them. 

It was currently two months, after I met Chloe. We found a old farm and claimed it as our own. We had started growing crops and we found some pigs so that would do.

It was a normal Sunday night, Me ad Chloe was getting ready for bed as my room was opposite hers when we heard a siren go off. That could mean one thing too me and Chloe. Freedom.

" Millie " Chloe said rather happy. I nodded.

" I think we are saved "
