I went into 8th grade thinking that it was going to be a regular school school year...I was wrong. This particular year is the year that changed my life for better, and worse.
It all started because I met HIM. His name is Connor, and he was a new student in my grade. He was the talk of my group of friends because we weren't sure if the popular kids were going to pull him into their circle of ever changing friends. They didn't, instead we got him! Yay for us right? Yea, it was pretty cool knowing that we had just "saved" someone from going to the "dark side" (they did have cookies).
As soon as we befriended Connor, my girly feelings/emotions got in the way. I'm pretty sure I fell in love with him the first time I saw him.
I was walking around school with him pretty much every morning, thinking to myself "I hope he likes me too." We were close friends back then because our family stories were almost the same, yet unique in their own way. We are also very flirty people, and because of that it made it difficult for me to figure out if he liked me or not. He was that guy I would call every night and talk to for hours about cars, movies, food, life, and anything we could think of.
He started to come over a lot towards the end of the school year. My mom loved him, my brothers tolerated him, my step-dad liked him, and my dad, I'm pretty sure he thought I was going to marry the kid. The bad thing about liking Connor was the fact that he was a guy who hung out with girls more than guys and to this day it is STILL true. Was I jealous? Yea, it meant that I had to try harder to catch his eye again. Now it probably sounds like we stopped hanging out. Well we didn't.
He was friends with another girl Sara, and she liked him too and he liked her, but he also liked me. Now talk about a love triangle.
The summer came and Connor pretty much lived at my house, and when I wasn't home he was over talking to my mom and step-dad. He was pretty much a part of my family and we were more than happy to have him over.
