It's been half an hour since you left
And the space between my hands is swelling
Peacefully
I watch a painted star tumble across the great tundra of universe, a humble collage by the artist of life
My feet are dangling through a ruptured cloud upon which I lie, waiting for you to lift yourself off the ground with my sky in mind
Put your arms around me again
Put your arms around me and I promise I won't ever let go this time
I'll keep your hands wrapped around my neck and I'll keep my feet on the ground because my head is in the clouds and it's only you who can take my eyes off of this planetarium of wonder
Because all of it is clear to me when I look into your eyes and you look into mine.
Look at me
Look at me so the glassy glaze of your eyes graces my fingertips and I can savour a slice of your attention
The genuine kind that I don't fabricate with vapid banter or provocative tease
Water rushes up my hips into my head and dances upon my temples like children in an eternal puddle of affection
I try to read your face but I stumble
I stumble on the very place I lay my words
Maybe the distance between us is what's killing me the most
It's igniting an engine in my neck, pitching my voice upward and lifting my lungs to the sky
To say I love you would be the least I could do
