It's not Draco's blinking that tears Harry away, it's Ron. The red head pulls Harry strongly up from the chair practically throwing him onto the floor, his drink spills on the carpet as he stumbles. Ron flops into his newly vacated seat, George vanishes the spill with the flick of wand, Fred holds out an arm to steady Harry, Harry laughs and Draco blushes with a scowl on his face when his eyes flick up from the two boys contact to the cheeky wink Fred sent him. Draco hides his face in his cup as he blinks, blending back into the party for just a moment. When he looks back over Harry is no longer in the group, neither are the twins, just Granger and Weaslebee flirting disgustingly with each other. He looks around for the shock of messy raven hair and is alarmed when he realizes Fred is headed straight towards him with a smirk and a scary twinkle in his eye.

"Like the show Malfoy?" He winks again.

"Watching you embarrass your pain of a little brother never gets old for me, no matter how much I dislike all you Weasleys. Ron is the worst." Draco sniffs with a slight sneer.

Fred just smiles like Draco hadn't said anything even slightly rude. "Wrong show." He stands so he and Draco are side by side and can see the newly rejoined Harry as he perches himself next to Ron on the arm of the chair, handing his best friend a cup. "Is Ron the worst because he gets to sit that close to Harry?" Fred's voice is a husky whisper.

Draco sends him a shocked look that he quickly tried to cover with a glare. "You must be drunk. Everyone knows I hate Potter more than anything."

"You'll notice my lack of drink Malfoy." Fred shrugs with raised eyebrows. "I know a lot of things little Draco, and I know you and Harry don't hate each other. No matter how much you want everyone else to think you do." He watches Draco's grey eyes flutter over Harry.

Draco has no answer, his tongue and gaze seeming only to wish to betray him, so he stays silent watching Harry laugh with his friends. Fred watches him in amusement. "I don't-"

Fred doesn't let him finish. "I'm going to send him out of here in a moment to help with a prank. You can take the opportunity or not. Only you and I will know about it, but I think you'll regret it if not."

Draco feels panic flood through him. "He doesn't... I... What if-?"

Fred places a hand on the younger boy's shoulder lightly, a crooked grin on his freckled face. "Well then, good luck."

He disappears into the crowd of the Hufflepuff party, a physical embodiment of cheer and mischief and all Draco can do is shake his head. He drains his cup and glances at the group again. Staring at Fred this time instead of Harry he mutters "Wanker." and walks towards a shadow near the door where it'll be easier for him to follow Potter out.
