A coconut falls
It smiles, remembering tales of old
It rolls gently down the sand
And splashes into the cool water.
It floats for many days and many nights
Until it washes upon the shore of an island
Golden sand
Rolling hills
Crystal water
It waits.
A tree stands tall by the edge of the ocean
Strong, green leaves
And a bendy brown trunk
Coconuts hanging
A coconut falls
It smiles.
