A scary, worrying thought
A quietly lurking beast
Hidden in the shadows
In the dark lonely corners of you mind
Waiting to strike
The monster under your bed
The voices in your head
The ache of your heavy heart
The pain expressed in you're art
Splattered with blood
Shards of broken memories in the mud
Cuts and bruises on your skin
Knowing you'll never win
Fighting back and failing
Waves hit you hard as you're sailing
In an ocean of emotion
Unable to think 'cause of the commotion
In your head
You feel dead
Invisible to all
All except a few
The few that care
The ones who know
The lonely ones
Those who are consumed by it
Whose thoughts are corrupted
Like a dying computer
Slowly powering down
Then sparking back to life
The people whose tears fall
Consistently like the unceasing rain of pain and sadness inside
Those who understand
Worrying silently
Not knowing what to do
Only speak of it if it means life or death
Counting the days until it's finally over
Forever
It lasts forever
It will never go away
No matter how hard you try
You scream silently alone
Wanting it to just end
To be said and done
To go away
For good
Done
Fear is always here
Hiding under the bed
Lurking in the shadows
Sitting quietly in the dark lonely shadows of your mind
Ready to strike at moment
It shakes you at your core
It's the mysterious knocking on the door
The door to your thoughts
To all you hold dear
Turning it to some things it's not
And when you close your eyes
Trying to escape it
It twists into something else
Something that leaves you restless
Reminding you of all of your mistakes
All of your sins
Everything you wish you could erase
But it never will
Ever
You beg
You plead
You scream at it to just go away
But won't
Never
It will always be there
In the back of your mind
Waiting for it's time to strike
