12 years later

Finally, I got the chance to go back to where I am supposed to be. Our home town. I love this place, it was so quiet, all you'll hear are the sound of the birds they are making and wind that flows through the leaves of the trees. It's peaceful.

The bus finally stopped near our house so exited the bus and started walking. Not that I'm surprised but the puppies we used to take care of are all now old but I was surprised that they still know me. Maybe because I took good care of them, i love them so i did. Plus, they were so cute.

I went to my knees and then played with our dogs as they play with me. A while later, I stood up and started walking to our house to visit my grandma and grandpa. I was near enough for them to see me. From afar, i saw them waving at me so I hurriedly went to them and gave them a hug.

"I missed you grandma," i said as i was hugging her. "I missed you grandpa," i said after i hugged grandma.

They both told me they missed me too and we went inside, "we have your favorite, watermelon!" Said grandpa excited.

"Yes!" I exclaimed and then went to the table and dig in. They both sat in front of me and both smiling at me that they finally got to see me again.

I smiled at them back, of course.

I go here every summer. Watermelons here are very tasty every summer so i must get some.

After i ate, they let me go to my room and fix my things as they fix the table for lunch. I opened my bag and started putting all the things inside my cabinet. I was so busy fixing them, and actually realized that i'm tired, so i went to my table beside my window.

I stared at it for a moment when i saw a photo on my wall. I picked it up.

"I remember this," i murmured to myself, "this was the forest i used to go to."

I looked outside, i was in front of my room after all. How didn't i see that? I remember 12 years ago, i was 7 when i first got there. I was so alone that time, my parents were busy buying stuffs in the market so i let myself get there. I played by myself then just woke up all wet and soaked. I still couldn't remember why i was all wet that time though.

I realized i wanna go there immediately but i cant because we have to eat first.

So, i went to our kitchen and helped mg grand parents preparing lunch so i could go to the pond again. I wonder if there are fish there now.

"Grandma," i started the conversation.

"Yes, dear?" She asked me back.

"Do you think the pond is still there?" I remembered just in a moment ago, whenever i tried to enter the forest, i swear i was walking the same path i used to take but there was no pond unlike the first time i got there.

"If there is a pond there dear, it'll stay there." Then she smiled at me.

"What about the pond?" Asked grandpa.

"Nothing grandpa."

We finished eating so I stood right after and told them that i'm going to go somewhere. I think they already know where but i still don't wanna tell them straight.

I get more nervous as i get close to the forest. What if i got lost? I'm not even sure if the same path i always take. What if something is in there?
