The first time

As I fell, my body began to change. It changed into a beast. A wolf. My fur was black. My fringe still covered my left eye. My eyes were still bright blue. And I was quite small, even for a wolf. I guess most of my human features have followed over.

It was as I hit the ground I noticed someone hiding behind a tree. I could smell their scent. And I could sense their presents. 'Have they just seen my shift?' I asked my self.

'Who is this!' A voice boomed around my head. I whimpered. It must be the Alpha. 'A...Ann...' I began.

'Spit it out!' He demanded.

I swallowed. 'Annie.'

'Don't lie!' he shouted.

'I... I'm not.' I cried.

'It cannot be Annie because your parents don't have wolfs.' He thought. 'Meet me at that tree of yours.' he finally said.

'Ok.' That was when he blocked me out of the mind message. 'How does he know about my tree?' I asked myself. But before I could even think about my question a large wolf came pounding around the corner. 'This must be the Alpha.' I thought. I bowed down when he stopped in front of me. 'Get up!' he screamed. I whimpered again. His wolf then turned their head to the side, obvious in thought. 'He looks cute.' A voice said. 'Ah, you must be my wolf.' 'Yeah. Do you think that he could be our mate?'

'Hmm... I don't know. He's the Alpha. And we're a nobody. It's impossible.'

'You thought that us being a Shifter was impossible. But it is. Everything is possible.'

'But that's different.' I defended.

'How?' she replied, bluntly.

'It... It... It just is, ok.'

The booming voice of the Alpha returned with, 'Turn back so I can check.' I tried to scarpper up my tree to turn back with some privacy but my wolf could not manage to get up. I snarled. I then grabbed the shredded up peices of my clothes and dragged them into the bush near my tree. 'Don't look.' I muttered in my head.

'Ok.' A playful reply returned. He then strolled into another bush and shifted back to get changed. I stumbled out to find him already out and waiting. 'He's even cuter now!' My wolf muttered.

'Shhh.' I replied.

"Well, well, well. So it is the famous Annabel." He joked.

"Can you not tell anyone." I muttered.

"Ok... Mate." He laughed.

'Mate? I'm not his mate. I cannot be.'
