I am not ready for today, I think as I open my eyes. Both Iris and Zora are still sleeping as I jump off the bed. I landed clumsy, and well, somehow I ended up on my ass. Iris gets up takes one look at me and laughs. Zora on the other hand flips onto her side and asks
"Do you mind keeping it down" I almost feel bad for waking them up at 8 in the morning on a Sunday.
"Don't mind her she is just a bitch in he morning" Iris smiles and throws her pillow into Zoras face, but Zora expects this and catches it.
"Only you can call me that and not get killed sugar." She looks at me, "Well I'm Zora and you must be Ash. Now that introductions are over, and I clearly am not going ot be able to sleep, lets go get some food." I would protest, but my stomach agrees completely with them. I follow them out of the room and listen to Iris and Zora bicker.
Zora turns to me "Can you cook pretty bitch?"
"Whats your problem? I might be a bitch, but I'm certainly not yours." I bark back.
"Well", she starts " My problem is that you woke me up at some ungodly hour on a weekend, and now I'm hungry."
Before I can say anything else Iris interjects "Seriously both of you stop. We are not on the Jerry Springer show. Second of all, Ash, you didn't need to get all upset with her comment. It didn't mean anything, and if you couldn't tell our first language is swearwords."
"Ya I can cook" is all I say as we head down to the kitchen. I notice that I am just a little taller that Iris and Zora, but not by much.
When we get to the kitchen both of the girls start getting things out of the cabinets, and setting them on the island. Iris shoves a box of betty crocker pancake mix into my hands without saying a word. I go to the fridge to get the milk and eggs.
I set them on the counter, and see Iris fiddling with something. Suddenly she starts blaring music from either her iPod or her phone, and both of them start dancing. They eye me and I just shake my head, no way am I going to dance in front of them. I'm not going to lie though, their song choice was not to bad. As Wake Me Up by Avicii played, I cooked some pancakes, and even three eggs. I hope they like the yolk popped , because I didn't ask.
When I'm done I ask where the plates are and Zora points me to a cabinet that does not in fact have plates. When I turn around to glare at her she is getting plates out of a cabinet on the island, and Iris is getting the forks. I decide not to kill her, because by the time I finished that my food would be cold.
"So tomorrow you get to start the hell they call school." Iris smiles at me, and they both start laughing.
"You know you have already missed two weeks, its going to be hard as hell for you to catch up."
"I think I'll live."
As we ate our breakfast at the bar in the kitchen, Eva walked in.
"Hey Eva?" Iris asked sweetly "Can we take Ash out, and show her around?"
"Alright, but if you get caught speeding again, that's it." Eva said with a stern look.
"I love you Eva" she runs up to her and throws her arms around Eva. "We will be back before supper."
This is where I interjected. "Before supper? That's like more than 12 hours in town!"
"OK Mrs. Antisocial Pants get over it. We need to take you shopping, and badly by the looks of it." Iris says
OK ouch that was harsh. "Um ya I don't have any money, so that is not going to work"
"We can pick up some job applications while we are in town, and I can pay for everything today" Alright I was beginning to think that she could boss me around. Who did she think she was? Eva must have seen me plot how to murder those two, because Eva said, "Iris, take it easy on her, you should remember how shaken you were when you came from the foster system to here" At this Iris's laughter cut off, and a frown appeared on her face. Well that will have to do instead of murdering her.
