Chris's P.O.V

I take another deep breath while check myself in the mirror before I decide finally to get out of my car and walk towards the small house I've been parked in front of for 10 minutes.
"Come on Cerulli, you can do this." I get up to the door lifting my hand to knock but stop myself looking back at my shitty car, can I really do this? I shake the thought from my head and loudly knock before I have time to think about it. My anxiety peeks and a small panic starts to sink into me, shit.
"I'm coming!" I hear Ricky's voice on the other end of the door before the door slams open and his father walks out, I knew I should have texted him from the car.

His dad looked me over, I could almost feel my skin burning under his gaze but before I could turn and run for the hills in fear of my life Ricky's mother popped her head out of the door.
"Chris! Come in." She says softly pushing her husband out of the way, he moves but keeps his eyes on me. Ricky and I have been hanging out for a while and we both have liked each other but only really just decided to make it known. His dads always at work so his mom knows me a lot better, she actually kind of likes me. I make my way inside while she take me to the dining room where I find Ricky, with his forehead pressed against the table.
"Rick?" I say as I get closer. He turns his head and looks up at me his blue eyes surrounded by the usual dark make up he wears, his long hair falling over his face a little because he hasn't lifted his head.

"Dad can we please, not do this?" I look between him and his mum confused, her smile falters for a moment before returning.
"Would you like to sit down Chris? Ricky's father would like to speak to you." I feel my anxiety immediately pick right back up again, I literally know nothing about Ricky's dad or what he's like. All I know is he's never home because of his work, why did he have to be home tonight of all nights? I nod before sitting down next to rick, he doesn't seem scared or anxious so maybe it won't be so bad?

"So, Christopher." His dad says sitting down across from us, his mom quickly exiting from the room. I cringe at my full name before turning towards the older man, he doesn't seem intimidating at first glance but when you're about to go on a date with his only son it's a different story even when you're a 6 foot goth kid. "Richard is my only son and you" He motions towards me, " want to take him out?" I nod slowly looking over at Ricky who just huffs and faces away from his dad. "Are you serious about my son?" He asks, Ricky shot straight up from the table staring wide eyed at his dad his whole face red. I can't tell if it's him blushing or if his are gonna blow smoke. I'm a bit shocked by the question. I wasn't exactly expecting him to ask me something like that.
"Yes sir." I say looking towards rick again who's now hiding his face in embarrassment, I think I get why he's acting like this now.
"Will you take care of him? If he comes home hurt or crying I want you to know I'm gonna be knocking down your door." He says as he points his finger at me over the table. I look over to rick before grabbing his hand and looking back to his dad.
"Sir, I would never do anything to hurt your son. I've liked rick for a while now. I can't say that I love him because Honestly, we haven't been together long enough to say that but I respect him." There's a few moments of silence where his dad and I just stare at each other, his expression never changing and Ricky not moving.

His face slowly changes into a smile and he lets out a light laugh, Rick slams his head back down onto the table groan. His dad stands up and walks around the table, Ricky and I stand when he gets over to us. He holds his hand out for me to shake, Ricky groans grabbing my hand again and dragging me out.  When we reach my car his dad yells from the front door.
"HAVE HIM HOME BY 9 CHRIS!" I check the time and see it's only 7:30, we hop in the car and Ricky turns to me.
"I'm so sorry about my dad, he's protective and embarrassing." I smile down at him while we put our seatbelts on.
"Honestly it was fine, I thought he was gonna kill me for just being male." I say as I start up the car.
"No he's fine with me being gay, he had a friend growing up who was gay. My Uncle Ned. He's just, ughhhhhhhhh that was so embarrassing." I chuckle at his annoyance, he doesn't realise how cute he is when he's mad.

I start driving until we reach the drive in, I pay for our tickets and rick pays for the food. Luckily I don't have just a shitty car, no it's a shitty van. I dragged my mattress out of my house with the help of my brother and set it up side ways in the back because I couldn't move the seats far ahead enough. It's currently October so all the old horror movies are being screened at the moment, we'd decided to watch The Exorcist because why not watch a classic horror movie about demonic possession for your first date?
"Can you pass me that pillow rick?" I ask pointing to the pillow on the backseat while he sets up our snacks, he looks up from what he's doing before grabbing it and going back to his food. "Thanks." I say as I lay it down on the mattress with my duvet and the other pillows and the cushions I may have stolen from my couch. I stand back and admire my work, it's not much but I think it looks ok. Our friend Devin who's one of the more... feminine members of our goth bunch forced me to set up a heap of fairy lights and shit in the van, he said they shouldn't be too bright but I haven't tested them yet.

"Hey rick?"
"Yeah Chris?" He asks while he tries to work out what he forgot to get
"Did you get drinks?" I ask noticing the lack of cups, he face palms before grabbing his wallet.
"I'll be right back, what drink do you want?" He asks as he starts walking back up to the place where you get food.
"Coke please, thanks." I say, I watch him walk away after I'm sure he's far enough I switch on the fairy lights. Devin was right, they're bright enough to light the van up enough to see properly but not bright enough to blind us and they surprisingly don't look too bad. I quickly turn them back off and bring all the snacks into the back as I see rick walking back with two large drinks, this already reeks of disaster. I notice him struggling to hold up the two large cups and he stumbles a few times before catching himself. He looks up at me and shoots me a nervous smile and I start walking towards him to grab mine at least but before I can get to him someone's kid knocks into his legs and runs off, Ricky tries to grab the cup but nearly ends up dropping the other one. It lands on the floor spilling all over the dirt, he rolls his eyes back before letting out a loud groan of annoyance as the ads start rolling.
"It's ok we'll share I'm not that thirsty anyway." I say walking to him and guiding him back to the car, I take a cup off him before taking a sip while he climbs in.

Later that night

Rick and I cuddle up together on the mattress as it gets to the part where Father Merrin comes in, I feel Ricky poke my cheek and I look down at him. He's currently on top of me, not in a sexual way more in a he's-way-smaller-than-me-so-for-us-to-cuddle-properly-and-for-him-to-see-he-needs-to-be-basically-fully-laying-on-me way. He smiles up at me before pressing a soft kiss on my lips, I blush as he pulls away. He lays back down and we continue watching the movie smiling like idiots.

I think this counts as I pretty good first date.
