The sun peeked through the small gap in between the curtains. Apart from the few birds calls the street was quite but the quietness was soon shattered by the sound of an alarm. The loud blearing noise woke whoever was in the room. "Ugh, why did I set my alarm for so early morning?" The door to the room soon opened.

"Haley! Get up! You are late!" A woman in her late forties shouted before walking out the room again, leaving the door wide open, letting the cold air rush into the room making the occupant curl up in their blankets even more.

"Mom! How many times do I have to tell you to close my door?!" Came the sleepy reply.

"This wouldn't be a problem if you got up on time and wasn't stressing me out so early in the morning!" The reply came from downstairs.

Startled by their mother's reply, they quickly reached over to their phone to check the time. The phone screen brightened up showing the time 8:00. "Oh, crap I'm late! It's the first day back to school as well! Mom why didn't you wake me up earlier?!"

"Who do you think I am?! It is your job to set your alarm and wake up to it! I'm not your slave, missy!"

"Well it isn't my fault that I set them, and they don't wake me up!" The girl yelled, while throwing on their skirt, white blouse, they quickly did up their tie and put on their blazer.

"Enough arguing, now hurry up and get ready! You're already very late!" The angry reply came from downstairs, not happy that they are arguing so early in the morning.

"I know! I'm trying my best to get ready! Is my breakfast ready?"

"Yes! Your lunch is also packed!"

"Thanks! You're the best!" Grabbing their bag and a hairbrush so that they could brush their hair on the way to school, they also applied a little bit of makeup before they ran down the stairs and into the hallway where their parents were waiting with their lunchbox and breakfast.

"Right are you ready to leave?" Their mom was standing there with her coat on and waiting for her daughter in the porch.

"Yes, mother I am..." The reply came as a drawl. Sometimes Haley was fed up of her mother's nagging, but she still loved her mom despite everything.

"Good now put your shoes on, your dad is clearing the ice and getting the car started." She started to close the door behind her daughter and started to lock up while her daughter quickly put her shoes on and then raced out of the house towards the car.

Haley quickly entered the car after wrapping her scarf round her neck, putting on her gloves and then her coat. "Hi dad!" She happily greeted, after all she was a dad's girl whereas her older brother was more a mother's boy.

"Hey kid! Ready for your first day back to school and your second last year in high school?" Her dad teased.

"Ugh, who wants to go back to school in this cold weather? Whoever does must have lost a few brain cells." Before her dad could say anything else, her mum entered the car and then they were off.

Her school wasn't that close but also wasn't really far, it took them about 10 minutes to reach the school. The building was old looking from the outside yet was some what new looking in the inside. Students could enter from three entrances, the main entrance, back entrance and the pupil entrance. The main entrance is where the office and assembly hall are located.

There are two floors, the first floor was for languages, history and English; the second floor was split into two corridors. The first corridor was sciences and geography while the second corridor was for ICT and maths, the library, common room, photocopy room and staff room could also be found down the second corridor.

Art and HE was in a separate building that the students could get to by going out from the second corridor or go up the stairs from the student entrance. Business studies was also in the main building and students could get there by going through the assembly hall or exiting from the second corridor. If the student entered from the second corridor they would pass the PE hall.

Technology was across the road from the main building also across the road was the changing halls for outside sports such as athletics, hockey, rugby, football and rounders.

The car had stopped near the pupil entrance and Haley quickly grabbed her stuff and said a quick goodbye to her parents before running towards the school, hoping to get to her form class before the bell went off. Going up the stairs two at a time she reached her form room just before the bell went off. Sighing in relief and sitting beside her best friend Charlie while the teacher Mr Reilly was welcoming the students back, hoping that they had a good winter break before telling them that they had have to work hard as their mocks were coming up soon.

Silently groaning to herself, this was one of the reasons why she hated school. Mocks! Exams! Teachers getting disappointed in students when they know that they can score better. The useless encouragement, thinking that they know students better. Her parents were okay with her grades, they were average, but the teachers always said she could do better, saying she was a bright student.

Her friend beside her seemed excited to be back to school but then again Charlie was always the smart type who couldn't wait to work. They were total opposites, yet they got along so well, how Haley would never understand. All she ever wanted was to get through school with average grades, a few good friends and no one really noticing her.

Though the last fell away pretty quickly when she tried making friends most of the girls she tried to make friends with talked about their relationship. So, trying to fit in, she went over to them and overheard one of the girls talking about liking one of the boys but not sure what to do. Haley gave her advice on what to do and she only hoped that it was a one time think, however one of the girls came back to her asking advice which she gave and then things spiralled out of control.

People told their friends about her giving good advice so more people went to her about relationship advice. Haley knew she didn't have proper friends by then and had found a friend in Charlie who didn't want to use her for relationship advice. She could never turn down anyone so in the end she always helped fellow students with relationships hence earning her the name The Relationship Counsellor.
