"Dennie!" The young 4 year old called. This girl, Hannah Burns, slowly made her way down the slick rock. She hit the forest ground with a small thud. Then proceeded to look around. "Dennie?"

Dennis McKinney, a young boy who was older then Hannah by just a few weeks, was no where to be seen. Hannah continued looking for the boy. She figured it would be hard to see him, as the young boy always wore black, and his hair would blend into the forest ground. He would just be another leaf. His auburn hair, would be unnoticed, the blackness of his outfit would blend into the surroundings. Especially for Hannah's unperfect vision.

The only thing Hannah could depend on, was his icy blue eyes. She kept looking for the two glowing blue icicles to contradict against the forest floor.

She couldn't find them.

"Dennie, come out now. I give up." The melody of Hannah's voice carried off, ending once the wind blew it away. She stood there waiting.

"Dennie?"

Hannah started to get nervous, the sun was slowly heading behind the tree's and not above. A rule was Leave the forest once the sun, go away from the trees. When you no longer see it above, run home. To be safe.

Hannah's mother was very strict on rules. She made sure her children, and others would be safe. So she would always have a long list, explain the do's and don'ts.

"Dennie, you need to come out now. We need to head home." Hannah felt chills, her voice which was once strong slowly left her. She couldn't even trust herself anymore.

Hannah fell into silence. She listened. The only things she heard was the soft rustles of leaves, and the wind which slowly swimmed behind her. The leaves danced with the breeze, taking in new patterns.

"Dennie, come out now... Im getting worried." The young girl brought her hands to her face, hoping that it her eyes cant hold the tears, her hands will.

Hannah was in the middle of the forest alone, and the sun was slowly falling behind her, "DENNIE, THIS ISNT FUNNY!" She called out.

No response.

The empty void was silent. Even leaves stopped moving, and wind stopped mid-air. Leaves stopped falling, gravity defied itself. Then Hannah seen it, the soft shadow in the distance. Hannah wiped her tears.

"Dennie, there you are!" Hannah called out.

Hannah brushed her face, and brushed her soft pink dress down. Then she looked back up, the figure was still there. Hannah ran.

Hannah ran, stepping on leaves which refused to give a noise in response. She stepped on sticks, which would break, but would refuse to give the satisfying crunch.

Hannah continued to run, and the leaves still refusing anything. Hannah looked up, and then slowed down. "Wait.."

A soft little moan was heard, which rung into Hannah's ears. It came from the shadow.

Hannah stopped.

The shadow seemed to beckon Hannah closer, as a wave of black rings slowly moved back and forth.

It meant it was alive. Hannah felt empty, but felt something which called her forth. Hannah's feet slowly hit the ground. One, then the next. Hannah couldn't control herself. She was a few meters away.

"BOO!" A figure jumped out at Hannah. Hannah jumped back, released of the once spell. "D-dennis?"

The figure walked over to Hannah. "Yup, it's me. I scared you real bad, didn't I?" Dennis put a little ring on the word 'real'.
