When the next day came and he went to take care of his plants, a pleasant surprise was waiting for him...

She was there, awaiting his arrival as she told him.

"I was wondering, since you are the best when it comes to herbology, if you could help me with something?" her voice was trembling a little bit because of how nervous she was. As it was mentioned before, Jane Zat usually didn't interact with people unless it was necessary, meaning that talking to Neville made her a nervous wreck...

The boy was taken aback but soon recovered when he noticed how despreate she was to get his help "What d-do you need?" he mumbled and watched as Jane's face suddenally lit up with pure exitement and maybe even relief "Well I need a herb that can be consumed and in advance it would heal minor wounds. Do you think you could find something like that?" when the female gave Neville the description he immediately remembered a perfect plant he could recommend "There is one called Dittany. It is really good and heals the injuries quickly" he suggested and went to the back of the greenhouse so he could fetch some leaves of said herb.

"May I ask what do you need it for?" Neville asked once he came back with a small bowl filled to the brim with tiny green glossy leaves "Have you ever heard about runespoor?" Jane questioned, a small smile grazing her lips "You mean t-the three headed snake?" the boy received a nod from the Ravenclaw as she continued talking...

"Well each head act's however it wants. They have all different personalities and move separately. Yesterday I found out that one of the heads on my runespoor is biting the other two so in order for me to heal the bite marks I need something they can easily digest" Jane finished and giggled at Neville's baffled expression.

Walking over she took a hold of the bowl and pulled it gently out of his grip, the tips of her fingers brushing against his which forced shivers to run down the boy's spine "I will see ya later Neville, gotta tend to my beasts" she gave him one finale smile and just like that, she was gone...

Neville just continued to stand there, frozen in place and thinking about all the things that the girl had said...

She must be as good and experienced in magizoology as her parents if she is taking care of a runespoor... They can grow up to giant sized monsters and it is pretty hard to gain their trust, which is why he was so surprised by it.

The Gryffindor broke out of his trance when a thunder struck outside...

It was raining again...

...

A month passed since the two goofballs have met in the greenhouse and Jane started to visit Neville daily, either asking for new herbs or just watching him work with amazement written all over her face. Thru out that time they grew very close and became good friends, both of them learning from each other something new every day.

Today Neville is supposed to meet her in the woods because she apparentally wanted to show him something special that she was proud of...

He walked thru the forest, passing Hagrid's hut and stopping at the clearing where they once met Buckbeak. Jane was standing in the middle, holding what appeared to be a black leather suitcase and she was grinning like a cheshire cat "Are you ready?" she whispered once the boy stood few feet away from her. He gave an eager nod and watched as his friend placed the case softly on the ground, opening it she glanced at him and then... climbed inside...

SHE WENT INSIDE THE SUITCASE! LITERALLY!

Neville ran over and peaked in, only to see a long twirling wooden stairway...

"Well come on! Don't just stand there!" her voice echoed from down below, beckoning him to follow... He gulped down all of his nerves and slowly but surely made his way inside.

Once he was at the bottom of the stairs his eyes almost popped right out of their sockets. He seemed to be in some kind of a giant hall filled with various entrances to different locations. There was a jungle, tundra, forest, snowy mountains, cave even desert with small oasis. The sight was breathtaking, literally beautiful and magnificent all at the same time...

"Welcome to my little kingdom!"

Jane announced as she peaked her head from one of the entrances, waving at him to follow her "W-What is this place?" Neville muttered, his voice barely above a whisper as he observed the tall pillars that were framing the large archway "This is where I take care, nurture and tame all of my magical creatures" Jane winked at the boy and walked further into the dark forest she came from "Where are we going?"

To say that Neville was terrified after what she had said was an understatement, after all...

Magical creatures were ranging from very tame to very deadly and considering the fact that his female friend is incredibly experienced, he would guess that she has even the most dangerous ones.

The girl took Neville's hand in order to assure him that it is save "I want you to meet someone special~" Neville flushed at the contact of her skin against his and followed without uttering any other word, enjoing how warm and soft her hand felt...

They ended up on a small field of brightly colored flowers and tall grass, the sky above them being full of fluffy clouds and the sun was shining bright. The Gryffindor was so overwhelmed by all the exotic smells and colorations that he did not notice his friend looking over the horizon, eyes squinted as if she was searching for something. All of a sudden she pulled out a feathery cat toy out of her pocket, the thing jiggling as she shook it high in the air.

That caught Neville's attention, his eyebrows furrowing in pure confusion. What was she doing? Trying to lure a cat outside?

Neville tried to stifle his laugh when Jane gave him a playful glare, knowing very well how silly she looked right now. However, all of that was cut short when a load roar echoed thru the field and large shadow appeared above them. The boy's head shot up and he stumbled back as some giant beast landed in front of him with a menacing growl...

It looked like a cross between lion, tiger and eagle with long red ruffled tail. Jane hid the toy away and smiled kindly at the magnificent beast "Hello there big guy~ How are you doing?" the creature purred at her and nuzzled into her side as if responding to her question...

"W-What is..." Neville couldn't even finish his sentence because of how scared he was "I brought someone with me" Jane whispered and turned towards her terrified friend "Come here Neville" she gently spoke, trying to help and calm him down altho it did not work, at all...

"I don't t-trust it..."

The girl chuckled at his words "But you trust me, don't you?"

Of course he trusts her... Their special bond is so strong that they trust each other with their lives and with that thought in his mind he took her outstretched hand with small hesitation. She pulled him up and placed his hand carefully onto the beast's head.

At first it flinched but soon got used to the feeling of his hand, purring as Neville ran his fingers over the soft fur "It's called Zouwu" Jane said and watched as the creature lifted its head up after hearing her say its name "Zouwu..." the boy repeated, gaining the attention of the beast once again "Yup. They come from China and are incredibly powerful. Also their ability is to travel really fast, 1000 miles in a day to be exact"

The Ravenclaw observed Zouwu as it layed down, its head placed close to Neville so that he could pet it...
