~ Y/n's POV~
Another day in hell, but it was a lot better than what I expected. I was barely bullied today since the leader and a couple members was out sick, hopefully he gets the Corona and die. But that's just a thought. I sucked in a deep breath and exhaled, hopefully my brother is home.
Both of us are parent-less, since my brother was an adult he took me in. We live in a trailer park, the neighbors are a bit creepy, but it's better than living in the same house our parents died in. Right now I'm in my senior year, eighteen years old, just waiting for the year to end so that my hell will stop. But that will most likely won't happen since they live a couple roads away from us.
Moving sounds nice.
"Hey, B/n! I'll be going to the park," I called from the outside door. (B/n: Brother's name)
"Be careful, don't kiss any boys while you're out," he joked.
"B/n!" you whined.
He laughed from the living room, "Go ahead and go, make sure to be back at nine!"
"Okay, love ya'!"
"Love you too."
I shut the door and walked away from the steps, our trailer was at least a few feet apart from the other trailers, it's nice having the best trailer. The landowner listens to us like we are his parents, maybe because if we leave, the trailer park will turn to shit.
I smiled when a cold breeze blew in my face, chilling the vibrant purple bruise on my cheek. My brother questioned it, but I fibbed and said that I fell on my face instead of getting beat.
I crossed the road and strode on the sidewalk, leading me to the entrance after a few moments of walking. Flowers planted near the entrance was withering by the cold, which would honestly look creepy at dark. If I didn't know better, I would mistake it for a graveyard.
I slipped through the creaky metal bars and observed the area quickly, all I saw was an old couple and a cyclist occupying the park. I sighed in relief.
I entered the park and quickly walked over to the back, making sure the couple wouldn't see my face or else they'll question me. I glanced over my shoulder to see if they were watching, they seemed to be more invested in their conversation than me. I placed my feet in the metal fence and pushed myself over on the other side.
Leaves crunched against my feet as the crispiness of November chilled the air, I shivered in my thin jacket. Silently wishing that I wore a thicker one.
Leaf-less trees towered over me, giving me the fear that they'll break and crush me. Another breeze came in, it nipped at my nose in which I dug my face in my hands to warm my face.
I exhaled fog in distress of the cold, but as I kept going until I felt a disturbance in the ground. I stopped in my tracks and backed up on the erect piece of dirt. I looked down and brushed the leaves away from the clumped up dirt.
Something was buried there for sure.
Is it a corpse? Is it buried treasure? The only way to know is to dig it up.
I cursed at myself for having long nails, I know I'll be in the bathroom for an hour to get the dirt out from under them. Maybe I'll just cut them when I get back home.
I got to my hands and knees, and began digging. The feeling of dirt caking under my nails made me cringe, but there's no point of picking them out now. My bruised cheek felt numb in my face, the cold was not helping at all with my hot bruise. The two different temperatures did not feel good together.
