Epilogue

Fourteen months later.......

Max and I are still going strong, and just as much in love as we ever were. He did come and spend Christmas and my birthday with me (my birthday is Christmas Eve, for anyone who may be wondering), and I just got back from my second trip to Dublin about two months ago (I only stayed a week this time). We've also kept our Sunday Skype dates.

While I was in Dublin this last time, we did revisit the idea of him moving to Florida, and the last batch of his things will be here next week. I've spoken to my cousin Reid's wife, who works for a property management company in South Florida. They have a couple of offices in Tampa, and with her help, Max will pretty much have a job waiting for him when he gets here, doing the same thing he was doing in Dublin.

I still wear the ring Max gave me-- and yes, it does get put on a chain when I'm working-- however, while I was in Dublin, he asked me how I felt about moving it to my left hand, with the point of the heart toward my fingertips (meaning..... engaged). Of course I said yes, and Lindsay is already deep in the planning stages of our engagement party, which won't be held until he officially gets here-- in about three more weeks.

The diner's been doing so well that we finally outgrew our first location, and as of about six months ago, we're now up the street a bit, in the empty barbecue joint I had told Max about on my first Dublin trip. Thankfully the building was still in relatively good condition, and only needed minimal work.

So yeah, lots of changes in my life, some of which are still yet to come...... Bigger location for the diner, the love of my life moving here, planning my wedding....... Good times.
