The Reapers Resolve (Naruto X Fairytail)

Chapter 21

"Sasuke." I overheard Naruto say.

"What?" Was Sasuke's response, his eyes never leaving the battlefield.

"We're going to have to take the lead. Think you can keep up?" Naruto asked, a small smirk spreading across his face. "Don't underestimate the Uchiha."

"Alright! I'll up my Kuruma mode and go into tailed beast state!" Naruto slammed his hands in front of his chest, and I felt power being sucked into him. I turned around so I was facing the two of them.

"Be careful, you've seen how powerful this bastard is. Once you two distract him I'll get in there when I see an opening." I nodded, a hint of worry laced my voice. Naruto was almost finished transforming as he just suddenly dropped his chakra cloak.

"Huh?!" Naruto outraged, a irk mark appearing on his forehead. That's when Tobirama stepped in, "Don't make things worse than they already are. You're as goofy as your father, so much that he is even dumbfounded."

"S-sorry." Minato sheepishly spoke, his one arm scratching the back of his head.

"Syrup gun!" A white substance came from Gamakichi, his attack going full throttle towards Obito. However, as I predicted his black matter countered it.

"A toad from Mount Myoboku?" Tobirama stated but more so asked to himself.

"What was that about Gamakichi?" Naruto questioned the red toad behind us. "If you're going to make a move do something diversionary or a combo."

"Sorry but we're approaching the time limit for the summoning." Gamakichi spat out the rest of the substance and looked at the hyperactive ninja. "I just wanted to repay him with a parting shot!"

"Thanks for the effort, go get some rest." Naruto concluded, his gaze turning back to us as Gamakichi poofed away.

I watched curiously as the white substance clung to Obito's matter. Was this just not chakra based? It should have broken down by now.

"Obito, I thought you wanted to become Hokage!" Minato shouted, no doubt trying to obtain his attention. "Why are you doing this?"

"Lecturing me now! Isn't it a bit late for that... Sensei?" Obito mocked, I felt Naruto move behind me. His legs went back, his stance widening. He was getting ready to do something... but what exactly? "You're always too late when it matters most."

Obito and Minato had a staring contest, neither one of them daring to break their gaze from one another. I mean Minato did distract him.

"I was glad my teacher became a hokage." Obito deadpanned, leaving Minato slightly shook where he stood. "It made it easy to give up on my dream."

I could see Minato's gaze falter, and Naruto stopped moving. Minato was questioning himself I could tell he was hurt by what Obito said, but he tried to not let it show.

"You were my teacher, but you never realized that it was me. That's just who you are fundamental." Obito spat, his voice staying even like it never hurt him. But I could tell it did, and my guess is that it has something to do with this Rin character. "How pathetic, you died a heroic Hokage, but now you're being exposed as a disgrace in front of your son! A Hokage is a pitiable existence compared to what I am now!"

"You have no right to make fun of a Hokage when you couldn't even become one yourself." Naruto deadpanned, something I never thought he could do. In his right hand was a Rasengan, but it was bigger than what I've ever seen him do.

"Naruto you!" Minato stuttered, gawking at his son's ability. This would be a lot sweeter if the circumstances had been different. Tobirama appeared behind Naruto, his hand on his back.

"And you have no right to make fun of my dad, who became a Hokage." I could feel the emotion Naruto was emitting, he was proud to be Minato's child. His pride seemed to be taking over. Tobirama teleported Naruto to Obito, and Naruto's hand bashed down onto Obito's back. "How dare you put him down!"

"That worked! Why? How!" Sasuke gawked as the Rasengan twisted up the flesh on Obito's back. I stood next to Sasuke and stared in amazement as well.

"Little Naruto is growing up!" I dramatically outbursted. A smile managing to find its way onto my face.

"I bet that's the Nature Chakra Kakashi told me about. His Sage jutsu, harnesed from Nature means it isn't ordinary chakra." I explained to the dumbstruck duckbutt next to me.

"You bastard!" Naruto shouted as he ran Obito all the way to the ground, the sheer force reached us. I put up my hands, dispelling the wind current so it went around us.

Naruto and Tobirama landed next to us a smile on Naruto's face proved my speculation correct.

"Sage mode works!" He then went on an explanation on to how it works, which was pretty similar to what I inferred. This also proves that magic will also have an effect on the ten tails jinchuriki. I saw that Uchiha held a gaze that could kill into the back of Naruto's head.

I placed a hand on his shoulder and gave him a warm smile. It wasn't much, but I hoped it would calm him down at least a little.

"It clearly worked, but he's recovered already." Tobirama examined as Obito once again emerged from the crater.

"I should start preparing for Tsukuyomi." Obito crouched down on all fours and placed his hands on the ground. "Let's tidy thing up."

I jumped slightly as something busted through the ground in front of Obito. All of us gazed in horror as what seemed like a tree started to grow tall. Three flowers like spores also sprouted from the tree.

"I hate to state the obvious, but that's not fucking natural for a tree to grow like that!" I shouted my eyes raking over the tree numerous times. Trying to figure out what exactly this thing is.

"There is nothing worth saving in this reality!" Obito announced as he straightened up from his crouched position. He floated into the air, his black matter circling his body in the shapes of spheres. "This world is already dead."
